Dr. Justin Dredge

Dr. Justin Dredge grew up in Southern California and graduated from Torrey Pines high school in San Diego. He then attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, where he earned a B.S in Biology. Dr. Dredge received his medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York. He completed his internship at Harbor UCLA, where he met his wife Stephanie, who was completing her residency in Emergency Medicine. He then moved to Loma Linda University for his ophthalmology residency. Dr. Dredge completed a Glaucoma Fellowship at the world-renowned USC-Roski Eye Institute in Los Angeles, training under the mentorship of world-renowned leaders in glaucoma. Dr. Dredge and his wife welcomed their daughter Ava in November of 2021. Dr. Dredge's research interests include the diagnosis and management of glaucoma. He has published papers on the subject of glaucoma and external diseases of the eye. He is committed to utilizing the most recent methods and technology in the medical and surgical treatment of his patients in a compassionate and ethical manner. Dr. Dredge is an avid runner and downhill skier. He loves music and plays the violin and guitar. His favorite activity is spending time with his wife Stephanie, daughter Ava, and dogs Milo and Marshall.

Robert Smyth-Medina

Robert Smyth-Medina, M.D. was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Mexico City, where he attended medical school. After completing his education in Mexico, he returned to the United States to pursue an ophthalmology residency at the prestigious Jules Stein Eye Institute at the David Geffen School of Medicine. Following his residency in ophthalmology, he has been working at North Valley Eye Center in the San Fernando Valley and as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute. He is married and has two daughters who have recently graduated from college. Robert is fluent in English and Spanish, and he has a good command of French. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities, sports, and is an avid pickleball player.

Stephen M. Rabinowitz

We are delighted that Stephen M. Rabinowitz, M.D. has joined us in the practice of ophthalmology. A recent California transplant after thirty years of busy and successful clinical ophthalmology practice in Connecticut, Dr. Rabinowitz brings with him a wealth of experience and ophthalmic expertise as well as his genuine warmth and caring demeanor. He practices the full gamut of state of the art ophthalmology from caring for patients with cataract, glaucoma, diabetes, and other ophthalmic conditions to providing full comprehensive eye care. After growing up in suburban New York, Dr. Rabinowitz graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelors degree from the University of Pennsylvania where he was honored with election to the Phi Beta Kappa society. He graduated medical school from New York University with honors as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. After his ophthalmology residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, Dr. Rabinowitz went on to advanced fellowship training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami. As chief resident during his Lenox Hill years he also traveled to the Caribbean nation of St. Vincent where he provided free eye care and surgery to those in need. Dr. Rabinowitz's outstanding clinical skills and his upbeat and pleasant way with his patients has earned him the honor of being selected for the prestigious Castle Connolly top doctor award for the past 10 years. An avid baseball fan, Dr. Rabinowitz also enjoys movies, golf, long walks with his wife Janice, and spending quality time with his family. He has coached youth soccer and baseball over many years and has served as a commissioner in Little League Baseball back east. Dr. Rabinowitz and his wife Janice are truly thrilled to have come to California! They have moved here be close to their two grown kids and their spouses as well as their first delightful grandchild.
