Originally a native of Cedar Hill, TX, Darrell currently resides in Denton with his lovely wife Katherine Mitchell and their three children. His career in the financial services industry began in 2012 by working as a bank teller for a local bank in town where he discovered his life's mission… financial planning. Darrell would then go on to pursue his career in financial planning through obtaining his investment licenses and working for a large brokerage firm before joining the DFS Team in July of 2017. Darrell's compassion for people, mixed with his commitment to process and keen sense of the "big picture" has led him to help hundreds of families through financial planning. Whether it be through client meetings, teaching financial wellness classes, or simply hanging out and watching the Cowboys play (yes, he's a Cowboy's fan.. don't hold it against him), Darrell is always looking for ways to help people become financially effective and use their money to serve not just their life's needs, but their life's purpose.

Joel Hays, CEO of Distinct Financial Solutions, Inc., has been serving clients in the Denton area since 1990. His greatest accomplishment by far is marrying his wife Heather over 20 years ago and raising their three boys who attend Guyer High and Harpool Middle Schools. Joel has always been self-employed, first as a PGA golf professional where honed his playing, customer service, listening, and teaching skills. During this time, he learned many lessons of the entrepreneur…. the biggest being, seek wise counsel. Due to many factors and the desire to be more available for his young family at the time, Joel transitioned to the financial services industry. He was attracted to the idea of truly helping people with important things, like finances and at the same time fulfilling the role of trusted advisor to other entrepreneurs and being the wise counsel that he needed in his previous business. In 2003, he began as an American National insurance agent where he led the company multiple years. After earning his Securities licenses, he joined a Galveston based broker dealer which was sold in 2010 to a respected financial services firm. Because he values the advisory approach, in 2011 Joel chose to include financial planning, wealth management, and insurance advice to his clients. Combining these services created a unique offering causing the creation of Distinct Financial Solutions, Inc. Outside of the office, Joel enjoys a good warm day on the golf course, teaching and coaching his boys, and is an active member of The Village Church Flower Mound Campus.

Leslie Losey is our Farm & Ag Lead Agent, specializing in equine and cattle operations in North Texas. She comes to DFS, with over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Leslie has filled many roles in her career from accountant to corporate controller that give her a unique perspective when she works with her clients. She focuses on an advisory approach through building relationships, client focused solutions, and excellent communication. Leslie married her high school sweetheart, Scott Losey, and recently relocated to their ranch in Decatur. They have been breeding Friesian horses for over 20 years. In addition to their three hound dogs, they have a married son and three grandchildren. Leslie enjoys spending time gardening and homesteading on their ranch. She is also very active in her community as President of Wise County Horticulture Club, Vice President of Lone Star Friesian Horse Club, and helps assists with Decatur Library Homesteading Program, Hospital Auxiliary and Rise Church.

As Operations Manager, Tina has 26 years Financial Services industry experience most recently in concierge banking. She brings a high level of service making the difficult simple and making sure our strategies are smoothly implemented. This is accomplished with her servant attitude and vast operational knowledge. Tina is life licensed and a registered securities assistant in TX. Client satisfaction is always her number one goal. Tina is married, a mother of 6, and a grandmother. She likes spending her free time visiting family, reading, and working on craft projects. She enjoys any adventure in the great outdoors and indulges her passion for travel whenever possible.
