Alfred C. Anderson . . . Currently serves as the Roanoke County Treasurer for Roanoke County, Virginia and has held this position since first being elected as treasurer in 1971. Mr. Anderson is a graduate of East Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Sciences. Mr. Anderson serves on the Boards of the Virginia Recreational Facilities Authority holding the position of Treasurer for the organization, as well as, Vice-Chairman of the Governor's Commission on National and Community Services. He also is the Treasurer of the Vinton Masonic Lodge number 204 and is an Associate Patron of the Vinton Order of the Eastern Star (OES) number 36. Mr. Anderson is an active member of the Advisory Board of the Blue Ridge-Southwest Virginia Film Office where he holds the position of Treasurer for the Fund Raising Committees and has held the position of President for various associations throughout the years.

Anne Bell

Anne is well known for her Historical Oil Portraitures of Colonel Harry Temple, Virginia Tech Military Museum and General Robert E. Lee in her "Preserving Our Heritage" series. Anne Bell is notably recognized for her work on the National D Day "Difficult Times" paintings and showing General Dwight D. Eisenhower in his "Decision Time" portrait. Anne was also commissioned to paint former Mayor Noel Taylor of Roanoke, Virginia which was unveiled at a dedication ceremony. As artists recreate the past, present, and future it is only fitting that Anne Bell be our first Special Guest Artist. Be sure to see her 'Hollywood Days' collection. Spencer Tracy, Kathryn Hepburn, and Angelina Jolie captured on canvas for all time, just as film preserves these legends giving the movie goer a glimpse into the "stars souls" that has given their public so many memories.

Claire Collins

Claire Collins . . . began serving as City Manager for the City of Covington, Virginia effective April 24, 2006. She previously served as County Administrator in Bath County, Virginia for the past 14 years. Prior to 1992, she served as Assistant to the County Manager and the first Public Affairs Officer for the County of Henrico, Virginia. Claire has also worked in the private sector and on important legislative issues that have had a positive impact in Virginia. Born in Fort Worth, Texas and living throughout the United States and abroad, Collins has well-rounded experience growing up as the child of a career military family. She earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Studies from North Carolina Wesleyan University. Her undergraduate degree includes a year of study at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in International Politics and Law. She currently serves on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the Roanoke Valley Economic Development Partnership and Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation and on the Board of Directors of the Roanoke Valley Alleghany Regional Commission and Regional Board of the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership. In the past, Collins has served in key leadership positions of statewide and regional professional organizations. Claire also is a member of the Covington-Hot Springs Rotary Club and several other community and civic advisory boards and organizations. She is a recipient of the VCU Alumni Star Award. Mrs. Collins is married to Douglas Warren Durrett who together have two daughters, Jacqueline, a first year student at Bridgewater College and Alexandra, 7 in second grade. Elizabeth Matheny Cranwell

Cranwell received a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Government and Spanish from the University of Virginia in 1986 and a Master of Arts degree in Public Communication from The American University in 1996. Cranwell was the publicist for the 1990 Virginia Festival of American Film in Charlottesville. She worked for Congressman Rick Boucher and former Congresswoman Leslie Byrne, both of Virginia, as press secretary and communications director respectively. And, she has worked in several political campaigns and non-profit organizations in Virginia and Washington, D.C. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Science Museum of Western Virginia where she chairs the museum's marketing committee and is President of the East chapter of the MOMS Club of Roanoke. Cranwell is the former President of the Board of Directors of The Arlington Community Temporary Shelter, Inc; is a former member of the Roanoke Valley Greenway Commission; and is a co-founder and former board member of the New Vista Montessori School in Roanoke. Cranwell is married to C. Richard Cranwell, an attorney and former member of the Virginia House of Delegates, and is the stay-at-home mother of two boys, John Taylor "Jack" and Joseph, ages four and two.

Lynda Troutt Murphy

Lynda Troutt Murphy . . . is a native of Roanoke, Virginia. From 1973 to 1998 Lynda Murphy was a professional animal trainer/breeder and owned/managed a large shooting preserve in Oklahoma. Her expertise was training and breeding sporting breeds in Oklahoma, Texas and Wisconsin. During her training years she carried a camera in the field instead of a gun and has a huge collection of sporting dog fine art. Lynda attended the University of Central Oklahoma and Virginia Tech with a focus in Journalism. She graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a degree in Business Management. She did a four year independent study in photography through Virginia Western under the supervision of Martin (Marty) Church and Ellen Munger. She is a professional photographer and owns Murphy's, Inc. at murphysphoto.com (will open in a new browser window), an e-commerce business for photography and photographic supplies. Her speciality is black and white gelatin silver prints and most recently Giclée prints. She was inspired at an early age by her grandfather who was a photographer in WWI & WWII. As a child she spent time in the dark room with him and loved to see the images come to life in the chemistry. Lynda is single, has one daughter, Erin Murphy, and currently resides in Roanoke City. Tommy Firebaugh

Tommy Firebaugh . . . is a Roanoke native who serves as a location photographer for The Blue Ridge-Southwest Virginia Film Office Incorporated and is an important member of their Advisory Board. Tommy is a well know photographer, having been voted "Best Area Photographer" by the readers of the Roanoker Magazine eight times since 1992. His favorite subjects for photography are old mills, waterfalls, landscapes, covered bridges, and local area scenes. He feels it is imperative that he conveys the beauty of the 'simple things' and is driven to capture and preserve what he sees through the lenses of his camera for generations to enjoy. Mr. Firebaugh has been a member of the Virginia Professional Photographers Association (VPPA) since 1986, having earned a "Fellow of Photography" degree in 1996. He is also a member of the Virginia Mountain Crafts Guild (VMCG) and The Virginia-Carolina Classic Crafters. Tommy Firebaugh is a dedicated photographer whose work is displayed in the homes and businesses of collectors all over the world. He is also noted for his love of steam trains and is retired as a Product Manager from the Norfolk Southern Corporation. Tommy has also enjoyed being behind the camera as an aspiring actor. He was used as a background actor in the motion pictures, 'Crazy People', 'What About Bob', 'Assault At West Point: The Court Marshall of Johnston C. Whitaker' and a segment of 'Unsolved Mysteries'. Tommy's motto is "You name it, I'll shoot it."

William B. Zimmerman

Bill has a radio broadcasting background. He started his career as a radio announcer at WKEY in Covington, later moving to WXCF in Clifton Forge, and WDBJ in Roanoke. For seven years Bill was part owner of WSLW and WKCJ in White Sulphur Springs and Lewisburg, West Virginia. He owned and operated Celebration TV for five years. During that time, Bill produced three weekly religious programs which were broadcast on Covington's local cable system. Bill has co-anchored a Heart Fund Radiothon at WKEY each year for nearly 35 years. For 15 years he directed the annual Heart Fund Beauty Pageants. During those years, the area Heart Fund raised more money, per capita, than any other community in Virginia. His other media credits include production of: slide shows; video training programs; 16mm short film; and, industrial newsletters.
