Joseph B. Silverstein

Joe litigates and counsels clients on commercial matters, liquor licensing, partnership/shareholder disputes, commercial landlord tenant agreements/disputes, real estate, civil rights, insurance coverage and personal injury. Joe also advises many small businesses and frequently serves as personal counsel to bars and restaurants in liquor liability matters. Joe has lead counsel experience handling jury and bench trials in state and federal court, as well as arbitrations and appeals. Prior to the formation of Green, Silverstein & Groff, Joe maintained his own practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. From 1994 to 2004, he was associated with the law firms Manta & Welge and Klett Rooney Lieber & Schorling (now Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney). From 2000-2009, Joe was a member of the adjunct faculty at Villanova University School of Law where he taught a class in Pennsylvania state and federal civil pre-trial practice and procedure. Joe has served as a volunteer attorney with a number of local pro bono organizations; was a member of Alumni Association Board of Directors of Widener University School of Law; a Board member and Vice-Chair on the Board of Directors of SeniorLAW Center (a nonprofit that protects the legal rights and interests of seniors in need); a member of the Board of Directors of Congregation Adath Jeshurun synagogue in Elkins Park, PA and served on the Board of Governors of the Rydal-Meadowbrook Civic Association. Joe has served as Special Counsel to Haddon Township in New Jersey where he sat as a hearing officer in connection with disciplinary cases involving Township employees and currently serves as a committee person for the Abington-Rockledge Democratic Committee in Montgomery County, PA. Joe has published numerous articles on insurance and construction issues and has participated in a number of seminars for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the National Business Institute. While in law school, Joe was selected for a one-year internship for The Honorable Richard A. Powers, III, Chief United States Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. From 2005-2008, Joe was recognized as a "Rising Star" in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers publications and he and partner Mike Green were featured in Leap of Faith, an article about young lawyers who started their own law firms. In 2014 Joe was inducted into the SeniorLAW Center's "Hall of Fame" based on his representation and advocacy on behalf of seniors in Pennsylvania.
