Dana Shultz is Heart of Florida Health Centers CFO. Dana oversees all aspects of the health centers finances, including development and management of budgets, financial reporting, accounting and disbursements, decision support, accounts receivable, financial management and planning, and reporting to the Heart of Florida's finance committee and board of directors. Schultz brings to the health center nearly three decades of financial management experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors, with a focus on developing policies and procedures to improve performance and productivity. Her extensive experience as CFO within the healthcare field, specifically with community health centers, makes her well-versed in healthcare reimbursement financing as well as state and federal accounting regulations. She has demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, measuring, and continually improving policies, procedures, and control systems to ensure a continuously sound financial structure. Born in Topeka, Kansas, Dana spent fifteen years serving as CFO at three different community health centers before moving to Key West, Florida. She served as CFO and Chief Executive Director for Rural Health Network in Key West from 2015 before joining Heart of Florida in June 2017. After earning a BS in Accounting from Sterling College and an MBA from Emporia State University, she received her CPA from the State of Kansas in 2000. When away from the office, Dana can be found spending time with her husband or at the gym.

Deidre Johnson

Deidre Johnson is licensed in the state of Florida as a Clinical Social Worker. Deidre earned her bachelors in Human Services at Saint Leo University. She continued her graduate studies with Saint Leo, earning her masters in Social Work with a specialization in advanced clinical practice. Deidre has several years of experience working in residential treatment providing intensive therapeutic treatment to pregnant and postpartum mothers in recovery. She has also worked as a child therapist assisting children ages 0-5, specializing in developing social skills, emotional development, and anger management. Deidre has received training in several different evidenced based modalities. Deidre believes in using a trauma informed approach to assist her clients in reaching their goals.

Dr. Jennifer Abernathy

Dr. Jennifer Abernathy, DO received her medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, MS and completed her residency training in family medicine through the UCF/HCA Family Medicine Residency Program in Ocala, FL. She is a board certified osteopathic physician who enjoys seeing patients of all ages. She loves to promote preventative medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, fostering kittens, hiking, and searching out new interesting food spots around the Central Florida area with her husband.

Dr. Millie Poole

Dr. Millie Poole brings 27 years of experience as a working physician to Heart of Florida as a Board Certified Internist and a Board Certified Pediatrician. Dr. Poole specializes in all ages and behavioral pediatrics. After earning her medical degree at the University of Miami, Florida, Dr. Poole completed her residency at Metrohealth Medical Center/Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Tabatha Downey

Dr. Tabatha Downey received an MD from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She completed residency at the Cook County Loyola Provident Family Medicine Residency Program. She is American Board of Family Medicine certified. Prior to medical school she was a Registered Nurse, primarily practicing in inner city Emergency Rooms, where she developed an understanding of the importance of primary care and preventative medicine. She witnessed first- hand the challenges faced by many patients who did not have health insurance or access to a primary care doctor. Dr. Downey is committed to eliminating disparities in health care. Her practice is focused on providing high quality care to those with socioeconomic barriers to care. She is fluent in Spanish and loves to travel and read in her free time.

Nick Dorsey

Dr. Dorsey Serves as the Program Director of UCF's Family Medicine Residency at Central Clinic. Dr. Dorsey received his BS in Microbiology and Molecular Biology from UCF and his MD from St. Georges University. He completed his residency and was Faculty at UF. He has a passion for Family Medicine from infants to elderly as well as Medical Student and Resident Education. He also oversees HFHC's Procedures clinic. He maintains hospital privileges at Ocala regional medical center and continues to serve as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy Reserves.

Thomas Cartwright

Thomas Cartwright, MD, has served as the Associate Chair of the Research Gastrointestinal Program for US Oncology Research and Chairman of the Pathways Task Force for GI Cancers. He has over 30 years of experience in internal medicine and medical oncology with a special expertise in Epidemiology, Gastrointestinal Cancer and General Oncology. He is on the staff of several area hospitals including Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala Regional Medical Center and West Marion Community Hospital. He has given a numerous lectures on cancer care and has published more than 100 articles in such journals as Cancer Research, New England Journal of Medicine and Journal of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Cartwright received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, completed a residency in internal medicine at Southern Illinois School of Medicine in Springfield, and his fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. Dr. Cartwright is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine with subspecialty certification in medical oncology.
