IUOE Local 9 is a Hoisting and Portable local that represents over 1,500 heavy equipment operators, mechanics, welders/fabricators, miners, and commercial drivers throughout Colorado. Our members work on bridges, tunnels, highways, processing plants, renewable energy generation, mines, utility distribution, pipelines, housing, and other key infrastructure projects that keep Colorado a thriving state... IUOE Local 9 is a labor organization of heavy-equipment operators, mechanics, welders/ fabricators, miners, and commercial drivers. Working from the mountain valleys to the eastern plains, Operating Engineers are a critical part of industry throughout Colorado... IUOE Local 9 manages a 160-acre training facility just east of Denver in Bennett, Colorado. The facility hosts a mechanic/welding shop, a classroom, a multi-platform simulator, and a variety of heavy equipment that Local 9 members can utilize for training.
