I'm an independent consultant specializing in the more complex aspects of Oracle Configurator, including Configurator Extensions (AKA Functional Companions) and advanced modeling. Having worked with the Configurator product since its inception, I have the most extensive expertise you'll find outside of the Oracle Corporation... As you may or may not know, the Oracle Configurator started off in 1995 as little more than a toolkit called SellingPoint created by a company called Concentra (no relation to the current Concentra, a healthcare company). I'm proud to say that I worked for Concentra during the time the product was being developed and was one of the first to implement SellingPoint for a customer. Although the product's early days were challenging, it gave me a thorough understanding of how the product works internally; this knowledge is still relevant and useful today.
