Dr Susan Galanthay

Dr Susan Galanthay, co-owner of Mass Equine, has been practicing equine veterinary medicine for the past ten years An avid, Hunter Jumper rider from childhood up through college, Susan has always had a strong desire to work with horses. Her particular interests include sports medicine, reproduction and general health including dentistry. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two young girls.

Dr. A. Cate Crowley

Dr. Cate Crowley is a Massachusetts native. She grew up working with horses: on farms around Berkshire County. She attended Maine College of Art and has a bachelor's degree in fine arts. Dr. Cate spent quite a few years running a small gallery and design studio in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. Missing working with horses she made the move out to Illinois to attend veterinary school where she graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Cate happily returned to New England to complete a rigorous hospital and ambulatory internship at Ocean State Equine Associates. Her professional interests include emergency medicine, ophthalmology, and neonatal medicine, but she does have a soft spot for donkeys and geriatric care. Outside of work, Cate enjoys hiking with her bloodhound Becks, working in her studio, and her plants and garden.

Dr. Michael Strassner

Michael is a 1998 Cum Laude graduate of UMass Amherst with a Bachelor's in Biochemistry and Molecular/Cellular Biology. He received his doctorate degree in 2003. After practiced in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania for 2 years he and his wife (Susan Galanthay) then moved to Massachusetts in 2005. Michael & Susan purchased Mass Equine in 2011. Although he enjoys all aspects of Equine medicine, in particular, he enjoys lameness and the associated diagnostics and treatment. He is a member of the AVMA, and the International Society of Equine Locomotor Pathology (ISELP). He is currently working toward full certification by ISELP. When not working Michael enjoys camping, and hiking with his wife and 2 daughters and also enjoys woodworking.

Dr. Sarah D'Oench

Sarah graduated in 2002 from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine. She subsequently completed a joint one year internship with Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and the Massachusetts Equine Clinic which provided advanced training in equine internal medicine. In 2003 she joined the Massachusetts Equine Clinic as a full time associate. Her professional interests include internal medicine and neonatology. Sarah is a member of the American and Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Associations and the American Association of Equine Practitioners. When not at work Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
