Gene Hall

Gene Hall was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1928, and had been in the financial services business for over 50 years. His degrees include Chartered Life Underwriters (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College. In 1984, Gene Hall was admitted to the Registry of Financial Planning Practitioners and received his Certified Financial Planner (CFP). In 1968, he formed Financial Planning Counselors, Inc., offering a fee-based consultation service for families and small business under the laws of Michigan as a Life Insurance Counselor. Gene was a pioneer providing written financial plans on a fee basis for families and business many years before there were financial planning textbooks or educational courses.

Jennifer Foster

Jennifer Foster is a Wealth Coach with SmartPlan Investing and has been with the company since 2003. While she is recognized for her work with women, she and her team's focus is to empower the entire family. However, she realizes that many women think of investing as a man's responsibility. They often think investing is too hard and confusing for them to navigate. She is out to change that perception because she believes this a destructive mindset. Furthermore, she believes it is vital for women to grasp the basics of investing. Also, it's important to be a part of these very important decisions for their own financial confidence and peace of mind. Jennifer works with successful businesswomen; as well as, stay at home moms and women at any stage of their life. No matter your economic status Jennifer and her team will treat you as their most important client. Jennifer and her team provide investment solutions and provide coaching. They believe it's not enough to give you a great portfolio, but for you to understand what you are doing and why. No more being in the dark and just hoping things work out. Growing up Jennifer did not have plans to work in the financial services industry; in fact, it is the last industry she would have considered. In fact, she planned to go into cosmetology. Clearly, the Lord had other plans. She began working for SmartPlan Investing's sister company Wiley CPA in 2003. She was hired to do administrative work, but moved up quickly in the company and benefited from on the job training. Shortly after being hired the President of the company, Roy Wiley began to provide investment solutions to his tax clients after walking away from investments years before over frustrations with the industry. This provided another opportunity for training for Jennifer and where her passion for investors and women investors especially blossomed. Being a single mom with no outside financial support Jennifer struggled financially for many years. Like many American's budgeting and saving was not taught in the home growing up and she witnessed a lot of destructive money behaviors. However, she worked hard and grew within the company and ran the Accounting and Investing firm for many years. Suddenly, Jennifer's life was profoundly changed when she discovered her own true purpose for her money. This changed everything how she chose to spend, save, give and invest- yes, invest. After years of trying to follow a budget, even doing the envelope method she finally found a way to follow a budget. This was the example she wanted to stand for, for her young daughter. She then began aligning her spending and investing with her newly discovered purpose. Her purpose also led her to sit for the rigorous Series 65 Investment Adviser Representative exam, so that she could coach others in discovering their purpose. In addition, she wanted to show her daughter that through perseverance any goal you set is possible. Jennifer is a compassionate coach. However, she is unwavering in her beliefs, which serves her clients well when they need someone to stand firm and keep them on track during difficult times. Jennifer has extensive knowledge in the Nobel Prize- winning investing academics that make up the Matson Money investing method. She is able to relay complex theories in a fun and relatable way so that investors understand how their portfolio is designed to work and last for their lifetime and beyond. She has dedicated her life to helping women and their families live their life with purpose while investing to secure their financial future. She believes with the proper planning you really can create a life and future worth living in to. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her daughter, serve her church, and host parties.

Robroy Wiley

Robroy Wiley, is an Investment Advisor Representative and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Georgia State University. He started with SmartPlan in 2011 as a Portfolio Analyst and grew into his role as an Investor Coach. Robroy is an advocate for his clients American Dream and taking a stand for them. He advocates for CEO's and their team to better understand their 401k plan and the impact that coaching and academics of investing can have. Robroy, prior to becoming an investment advisor representative, worked for corporate America and participated in their 401k plan. He has empathy for participants and the role that they play.

Roy Wiley

Roy graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the highly profiled Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida in 1974. Mr. Wiley was recognized in 1976 by the State of Florida as a Certified Public Accountant. After receiving his CPA he worked as a controller for a large corporation and also pursued his insurance license and worked part time with A.L. Williams.
