SOMROK - Key Persons
I started in this industry when I was 12 years old. I started at the bottom, basically the clean up kid, the material carrier, the shoveler the raker, any job the higher ups didn't want to do. Jobs that needed done, just didn't require a lot of skill to complete. I did this a couple days a week thru the summers, and while on school breaks until I was 17. I left the construction industry for 7 years and did various jobs. I came back when I was 24 years old and started as a laborer/ apprentice. After 3-4 years I took over as foreman. I lead a framing crew and any other jobs related to field work for the next 5-6 years. I then became the finish out guy for about 3-4 years. I was then moved into the office for estimating and project supervision. After 2 years in this position I started in sales, and I still hold this same position plus many more. In January of 2013 I purchased Stephen Black Builders. I'm now the owner but still very hands on. I often physically work on the projects I sell. I believe it keeps me in touch with the current project & future projects better. I also do most of our designing for additions and remodels as I did with the old company. I have drawn a few homes in the past. My goal for Somrok Inc. dba Stephen Black Builders is to do the best possible job for our customers and create relationships along the way. I believe it's important to have a personal touch in each project. I know I appreciate the same approach when I make a large investment.
