Ashley McLoughlin

Ashley earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Hunter College in June 2016. Prior to earning her doctorate, Ashley graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Adelphi University. While earning her undergraduate degree, Ashley served as a volunteer EMT in her community, and was a seasonal beachfront lifeguard where she served as a Lieutenant. While earning her doctorate, Ashley participated in a research project involving persons with Multiple Sclerosis. Her research results were presented in national physical therapy conferences in both 2015 and 2017. Although Ashley loves working with persons with MS, her true passion lies with treating sports and orthopedic injuries. In March 2017, she joined the JAG PT team as an orthopedic and sports physical therapist in our Brooklyn and Queens offices in New York. In July 2019, Ashley became clinical director of our Montvale, New Jersey office. She enjoys treating patients of all ages with a variety of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. Ashley has experience treating pediatric and adult patients in both aquatic and outpatient settings. Her passion lies with treating adolescents with sports injuries, as she suffered several athletic injuries over the years as a high school basketball player, swimmer and golfer. As a physical therapist, she enjoys being a part of each patient's healing process. She has taken several manual therapy courses with Maitland Australian Seminars, as well as several diagnosis and therapeutic exercise related courses to expand her knowledge and improve patient outcomes. Ashley values a holistic approach to physical therapy. She enjoys educating her patients on the anatomy and pathomechanics relating to their injury, as well as facilitating a positive path to rehabilitation. Ashley enjoys running and is hoping to run the NYC marathon in 2021. She loves staying active, playing beach volleyball, relaxing on the beach, and playing with her golden retriever.

Carla Buonviaggio graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2010. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, Carla received her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University. She was inducted into the New York State Softball Hall of Fame in 2017. Carla is very passionate about Sports Orthopedic Physical Therapy. She enjoys working with athletes and post-operative patients, with the goal of getting them back to their specific level of function. Carla is constantly continuing her education and she likes to use several philosophies, including those of Gray Cook and Shirley Sahrmann, to give her patients the most specific plan of care to achieve their goals. Dan Kane

Dan joined the JAG Physical Therapy Family in March of 2010. Dan has been part of the JAG Physical Therapy Leadership team since 2012. He currently is the Senior Regional Clinical Director of New Jersey. Dan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Quinnipiac University. During his time at Quinnipiac he was trained in Cyriax, Maitland, McKenzie, and Mulligan manual physical therapy techniques. He was awarded the Carissa M. Neubig award for the Doctoral student who exemplified the 5 Values of: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence. In between studying at Quinnipiac, Dan stayed busy as the Assistant Intramural Director and Supervisor of the Fitness Center, while also participating as a member of the Quinnipiac University Rugby team. Dan specializes in rehabilitation of sports-related injuries (All levels: Youth-Professional) and post-surgical patients. Another passion of his includes injury prevention. Dan provides complimentary seminars to the local community on injury prevention: Slips and Falls Prevention, Overuse Injuries in the Overhead Athlete, Ergonomic and Work Place Evaluations, and Prevention of Knee Injuries in the Adolescent Athlete. Dan is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Giovanni graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and later obtained his master's Degree in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College. He has worked with many athletes from New York High Schools, Colleges and organizations including the NYPD football team, semiprofessional football and basketball teams in New York. Over the past 17 years Giovanni has developed his skills to effectively assess and rehabilitate the athlete as a whole and treat the underlying causes of their injuries. Regional Clinical Director, Jeff Rigby, joined our physical therapy team in the spring of 2008. Jeff's background in fitness and athletics dates back even before he earned his physical therapy degree from Seton Hall University. He played professional soccer and brought his talents to both the United States and Germany. Fast-forward a few years and his focus has only slightly shifted away from the field. Today, Jeff currently runs our Hackensack practice to help others succeed in the same spot in which he played. Jeff earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from esteemed Seton Hall University. Jeff joined the JAG Physical Therapy team in Spring 2008 and has used his orthopedic skills to improve our staff. Jennifer Worrall is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Athletic Trainer. She got her bachelor's of science degree as she majored in Athletic Training at the University of Delaware. She started her journey at JAG PT as a patient, when she tore her ACL in 2010. She started out working in the physical therapy field in 2014 as a volunteer. She then became a Physical Therapy Aide, graduated in 2017 and worked as an Athletic Trainer at JAG PT for a full year. Jennifer then went back to PT school and officially rejoined the team in November of 2022. Her favorite patient population is anything post-operative. Jess was born and raised in Vineland, NJ and attended St. Augustine Prep where he wrestled and played football and earned numerous student athlete accolades. He received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Boston University in 2006 and went on to receive a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Boston University in 2008. During his clinical rotations he had the opportunity to work with the Indiana Pacers, the BU Terrier Ice Hockey Team, and the MIT Engineer Football Team. Jess also assisted as a medical volunteer for the Boston Athletic Association's 2005 and 2006 Boston Marathons. Jess worked as a physical therapist in Boston as well as serving as Head Athletic Trainer at Arlington High School 2008-2009. Jim McNulty received his bachelors from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster PA. He then went on to receive his Physical Therapy degree from Temple University. Michael is the Clinical Director of Rehabilitation in our Oakhurst, NJ office. He joined the JAG Physical Therapy family in July 2020. For 20+ years prior to joining JAG PT he was the owner of several physical therapy offices in the Monmouth county area. Michael is a graduate from Hahnemann University with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. Michael is certified in the McKenzie Method of mechanical diagnosis and therapy. This post-graduate training focuses on assessment, classification, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions of the spine and extremities. He is also certified in functional dry needling. He has been caring for patients in the field of orthopedics and sports related injuries since 1998. Michael has completed a one-year internship with the New York Giants football team and is a clinical instructor for students from Rutgers and Sacred Heart University. He works closely with local high schools and universities, post-surgical care, multiple spinal conditions, arthritis, geriatrics, ergonomic evaluations and gait abnormalities. Michael Wylykanowitz Jr. joined the JAG Physical Therapy family in May 2011, and is currently treating patients as the Clinical Director of Rehabilitation at the Princeton facility. He graduated from the renowned Drexel University in April 2011, where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He also performed his undergraduate work at Drexel University earning a B.S. in Health Sciences. Currently, Michael is one of JAG Physical Therapy Golf Fitness Instructors having his certification from the Titleist Performance Institute. Michael enjoys rehabilitating a variety of patients, ranging from high school/college athletes to the weekend warrior. Michael currently resides in Bridgewater, NJ.

Mike earned his master's degree in physical therapy from the esteemed Northeastern University program in 2004. Mike has since enjoyed rehabilitating a variety of different patients, including local high school and elite college athletes, as well as professional soccer, baseball, and lacrosse athletes. He specializes in sports medicine rehabilitation, including soft tissue massage and joint mobilization techniques from the International Academy of Orthopedic Medicine and Mulligan Techniques. His other specialties include neurological and vestibular rehabilitation. Mike is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Ryan Skalka graduated from Salisbury University with a BS degree in Exercise Science Allied Health from Salisbury University. He then went on to earn a degree in Health Sciences from the University of St. Augustine in Austin, Texas in 2018. Ryan has been working at JAG since 2018, when he started his career at our West Orange facility. Ryan has a passion for sports related injuries, as well as surgical and general orthopedic cases. He is certified in the Graston Technique, Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR), Functional Capacity Evaluation, and Rock Tape FMT. In his free time Ryan enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and spending summers at the beach in Sea Isle City. Ryan is thee best Physical Therapist. I had a torn rotator cuff and he did an amazing job helping me recover. He is very professional yet personable. He motivated me to work hard but not over do it.This was my second injury and Ryan was so good the first time I followed him to his new location He is that good!!I must also mention how wonderful the entire staff is. From Maria who works up front with that friendly and inviting Hello; to all the PA's who helped set me up with my exercises, provided heat and ice or just a warm smile. She completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Scranton and completed her PTA degree at Essex County Community College in May of 2018. Sarah is certified in LSVT BIG, BFR, is a kinesiology taping practitioner, and is a certified pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist. She incorporates instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization and cupping into her practice as needed. Sean is a great Physical therapist cares enormously about his patients, highly recommended. Sean Anthony Thomas graduated from Brown University in 2003 with a BS in psychology. While at Brown, he was a captain of the Division I track and field team and was Ivy League indoor and outdoor champion in the triple jump. Dr. Thomas graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center with his doctorate in physical therapy in 2011, where he earned the Alumnae Award for Leadership, the Community Service Award, and the Best Research Award for his thesis entitled "Facilitating a Positive Change in Physical Activity Level with African American Adolescent Girls using the Trans-Theoretical Model." Dr. Thomas has been working at JAG PT since 2012 and is currently the Clinical Director of the Georgetown office. He is a Graston Provider, a certified kinesio tape practitioner, and is SFMA Level 2 certified. He is also JAG PT's Director of Community Engagement and Inclusion. Dr. Thomas has competed over 20 Spartan Races and is a 6-time marathoner, a former professional dancer, and the CEO of Be More Today, a company that provides information and inspiration to help ordinary people do extraordinary things in the world of health and fitness. He is the author of Be More Today: A 40-Day Guide to a Better Version of You and hosts a weekly podcast called The Be More Today Show. Dr. Thomas offers complimentary weekly workouts in Brooklyn and is the coach and team doctor for the Spartan Sundays Running Club.

While still in school, Shawn started working at Jag's Fairfield location. In 2019, he transferred to Jag's Jersey City location and then transferred back to Fairfield in 2020. His favorite populations to treat are Spine, TMJ (Temporomandibular joint dysfunction), and Sports Medicine/Geriatrics patients. He is certified in HSS Rehabilitation and TMJ. Outside of working, he enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and hiking.
