Angel was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic and was raised in Brooklyn, NY. Angel graduated with
his Associate degree in Biology from Middlesex County College. He then went on to Rutgers University
to obtain his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with double minor in Psychology and Spanish. He
continued his graduate education at Rutgers and received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Angel is
passionate about helping underserved communities! Angel coached the Rutgers Racquetball club, was
Ashley earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Hunter College in June 2016. Prior to earning her doctorate, Ashley graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Adelphi University. While earning her undergraduate degree, Ashley served as a volunteer EMT in her community, and was a seasonal beachfront lifeguard where she served as a Lieutenant. While earning her doctorate, Ashley participated in a research project involving persons with Multiple Sclerosis. Her research results were presented in national physical therapy conferences in both 2015 and 2017. Although Ashley loves working with persons with MS, her true passion lies with treating sports and orthopedic injuries. In March 2017, she joined the JAG PT team as an orthopedic and sports physical therapist in our Brooklyn and Queens offices in New York. In July 2019, Ashley became clinical director of our Montvale, New Jersey office. She enjoys treating patients of all ages with a variety of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. Ashley has experience treating pediatric and adult patients in both aquatic and outpatient settings. Her passion lies with treating adolescents with sports injuries, as she suffered several athletic injuries over the years as a high school basketball player, swimmer and golfer. As a physical therapist, she enjoys being a part of each patient's healing process. She has taken several manual therapy courses with Maitland Australian Seminars, as well as several diagnosis and therapeutic exercise related courses to expand her knowledge and improve patient outcomes. Ashley values a holistic approach to physical therapy. She enjoys educating her patients on the anatomy and pathomechanics relating to their injury, as well as facilitating a positive path to rehabilitation. Ashley enjoys running and is hoping to run the NYC marathon in 2021. She loves staying active, playing beach volleyball, relaxing on the beach, and playing with her golden retriever.

Carla Buonviaggio graduated with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2010. Prior to obtaining her doctorate, Carla received her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University. She was inducted into the New York State Softball Hall of Fame in 2017.
Carla is very passionate about Sports Orthopedic Physical Therapy. She enjoys working with athletes and post-operative patients, with the goal of getting them back to their specific level of function. Carla is constantly continuing her education and she likes to use several philosophies, including those of Gray Cook and Shirley Sahrmann, to give her patients the most specific plan of care to achieve their goals. Carla is very serious about patient education and its importance in the successful rehabilitation of her patients. She has many years of experience administering the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), the Y balance test and she is currently level 2 certified in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and level 1 certified in RockTape.

Dan joined the JAG Physical Therapy Family in March of 2010. Dan has been part of the JAG Physical Therapy Leadership team since 2012. He currently is the Senior Regional Clinical Director of New Jersey.
Dan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Quinnipiac University. During his time at Quinnipiac he was trained in Cyriax, Maitland, McKenzie, and Mulligan manual physical therapy techniques. He was awarded the Carissa M. Neubig award for the Doctoral student who exemplified the 5 Values of: Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.
In between studying at Quinnipiac, Dan stayed busy as the Assistant Intramural Director and Supervisor of the Fitness Center, while also participating as a member of the Quinnipiac University Rugby team.
Dan specializes in rehabilitation of sports-related injuries (All levels: Youth-Professional) and post-surgical patients. Another passion of his includes injury prevention. Dan provides complimentary seminars to the local community on injury prevention: Slips and Falls Prevention, Overuse Injuries in the Overhead Athlete, Ergonomic and Work Place Evaluations, and Prevention of Knee Injuries in the Adolescent Athlete.
Dan is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). He has served as Northern District Chair for the APTANJ, and has served as Delegate for New Jersey in the APTA's House of Delegates. He is also a Certified Clinical Instructor by the APTA.
When Dan is not working you can find him coaching his kids Mason (4) and Danny (7) in Soccer and Baseball or running the streets of Morris County preparing for his next marathon.

Erin joined JAG Physical Therapy in November of 2010. She received her Bachelor of Science in Public Health at Stockton University and then attended Physical Therapy Assistant school at Union County College. In 2017 she graduated with her Masters in Healthcare Administration from Ohio University.
Erin has had the opportunity to grow within JAG Physical Therapy from a physical therapy aide to an administrative manager. She enjoys treating a wide range of conditions including overuse/athletic injuries, post-surgical cases, motor vehicle accidents, work related injuries and generalized conditioning/strengthening.
Erin has furthered her clinical skills and knowledge through involvement with various continuing education courses such as SFMA and LSVT BIG. She is a Graston Technique provider as well as Credentialed Clinical Instructor. Giovanni graduated from Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and later obtained his master's Degree in Physical Therapy from New York Medical College.
He has worked with many athletes from New York High Schools, Colleges and organizations including the NYPD football team, semiprofessional football and basketball teams in New York.
Over the past 17 years Giovanni has developed his skills to effectively assess and rehabilitate the athlete as a whole and treat the underlying causes of their injuries. Besides being a Board Certified Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer, he is certified in the Graston Technique®, Kinesio Taping and proficient in Functional movement assessments and treatments.
Giovanni specializes in the post-operative care of various orthopedic injuries and the prevention of various athletic injuries. He believes that patient education of their injury is the best way to facilitate the patient's rehabilitation process and prevent further injury after rehabilitation. Giovanni strives to provide the same high quality care to all his patients ranging from students to professional athletes.
Heather Fisch graduated with a Bachelor of Science of Exercise Science from Hofstra University in 2014 and then went on to Drexel University to pursue her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. She has previously worked in a multi-disciplinary setting with PT, OT, chiropractic, acupuncture, and pain management MD's. Heather also has experience in an Acute Care/Inpatient Hospital setting and an Acute Care/Inpatient Rehab setting. Heather's favorite population to treat is the middle-aged athletic population, however she does truly enjoy working with all ages and populations. When not at work, Heather enjoys spending time with family, friends, her boyfriend, exploring the city of Philadelphia and spending time in Rittenhouse Park in Philadelphia. She also enjoys watching the NY Giants and the NY Yankees!

Regional Clinical Director, Jeff Rigby, joined our physical therapy team in the spring of 2008. Jeff's background in fitness and athletics dates back even before he earned his physical therapy degree from Seton Hall University. He played professional soccer and brought his talents to both the United States and Germany. Fast-forward a few years and his focus has only slightly shifted away from the field. Today, Jeff currently runs our Hackensack practice to help others succeed in the same spot in which he played.
Jeff earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from esteemed Seton Hall University. Jeff joined the JAG Physical Therapy team in Spring 2008 and has used his orthopedic skills to improve our staff. He also played professional soccer in both Germany and the United States and coached youth soccer throughout New Jersey at numerous clubs. Jeff currently resides in Midland Park, NJ with his wife and 2 children, and is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Jennifer Worrall is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Athletic Trainer. She got her bachelor's of science degree as she majored in Athletic Training at the University of Delaware. She started her journey at JAG PT as a patient, when she tore her ACL in 2010. She started out working in the physical therapy field in 2014 as a volunteer. She then became a Physical Therapy Aide, graduated in 2017 and worked as an Athletic Trainer at JAG PT for a full year. Jennifer then went back to PT school and officially rejoined the team in November of 2022. Her favorite patient population is anything post-operative. She has a certification in Blood Flow Restriction. Jennifer's hobbies outside the facility include going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, and DIY projects around her house.
Jess was born and raised in Vineland, NJ and attended St. Augustine Prep where he wrestled and played football and earned numerous student athlete accolades. He received his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Boston University in 2006 and went on to receive a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Boston University in 2008. During his clinical rotations he had the opportunity to work with the Indiana Pacers, the BU Terrier Ice Hockey Team, and the MIT Engineer Football Team. Jess also assisted as a medical volunteer for the Boston Athletic Association's 2005 and 2006 Boston Marathons. Jess worked as a physical therapist in Boston as well as serving as Head Athletic Trainer at Arlington High School 2008-2009. Jess has experience working with all types of patient populations including but not limited to sports/work-related injuries, pediatrics, and post-surgical cases, as well as neurological conditions such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and concussions and traumatic brain injuries. Jess became certified in dry needling in New Jersey in November 2022 and offers dry needling as an adjunct treatment to all appropriate patients.

Jim McNulty received his bachelors from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster PA. He then went on to receive his Physical Therapy degree from Temple University. He is also a certified and licensed athletic trainer. He has been a board member of the Sports, Orthopedic and Aquatic sections of American Physical Therapy Association. Continuing his education, he earned a doctorate from Arcadia University in 2013.
Jim has had an extensive career in physical therapy and sports medicine. Starting as physical therapist under Pat Croce, he gained valuable experience working with the Philadelphia 76ers and Flyers. He served as Director of Sports Medicine, and team physical therapist with the Philadelphia 76ers for over 20 seasons including the year they went to the finals in 2000-2001.
Beyond the clinical skills that Jim has utilized with patients, athletes and industrial clients, Jim has had a successful career overseeing the growth and development of physical therapy practices in numerous states in the country. Jim's passion remains with injury prevention rehabilitation and rapid return to activity for all persons. But he remains especially dedicated to ensuring the safe participation in Youth.
Jim and his wife reside in Philadelphia suburbs but spend much of their off time at the beach in Strathmere with their family.

Marissa joined JAG Physical Therapy in August of 2012 and has been treating out of our West Orange clinic since. She studied Kinesiology at Temple University and attended Physical Therapy school at Touro College. During her time as a student, she had exposure to a variety of specialties including orthopedics with a sports focus, acute care at Hackensack Hospital and subacute care primarily consisting of neuro rehab for stroke and spinal cord injuries.
Marissa has had the opportunity to grow within JAG Physical Therapy from a new graduate physical therapist to a clinical director. She has been exposed to a wide range of conditions including overuse/athletic injuries, post-surgical cases, motor vehicle accidents, work related injuries and generalized conditioning/strengthening. Outside of treating patients, she has spent time educating local sports teams and athletes on a personal passion of hers, injury prevention and proper training. Michael Dunne is the best! Not only is he extremely knowledgeable, but he has a great sense of humor and makes each and every visit something to look forward to, even though it may not be pleasurable! I highly recommend him!
Michael graduated from Muhlenberg College with his Bachelor's in Neuroscience and Minor in Business Administration. He then went on to New York Medical College to obtain his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Michael started shadowing at JAG PT Hackensack in 2015 and worked as an Aide in the Hackensack facility and JAG PT Hawthorne while in school. After he graduated, Michael started working at JAG PT Clifton before moving to JAG PT West Orange. He enjoys working with post-operative patients, ankle injuries, and all different kinds of athletes. Michael broke his ankle playing football in high school which is how he was first introduced to Physical Therapy. Michael is the Clinical Director of Rehabilitation in our Oakhurst, NJ office. He joined the JAG Physical Therapy family in July 2020. For 20+ years prior to joining JAG PT he was the owner of several physical therapy offices in the Monmouth county area. Michael is a graduate from Hahnemann University with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. Michael is certified in the McKenzie Method of mechanical diagnosis and therapy. This post-graduate training focuses on assessment, classification, treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal conditions of the spine and extremities. He is also certified in functional dry needling. He has been caring for patients in the field of orthopedics and sports related injuries since 1998. Michael has completed a one-year internship with the New York Giants football team and is a clinical instructor for students from Rutgers and Sacred Heart University. He works closely with local high schools and universities, post-surgical care, multiple spinal conditions, arthritis, geriatrics, ergonomic evaluations and gait abnormalities. Michael has been a Monmouth County resident for over 30 years. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and was a collegiate wrestler at George Mason University. He currently enjoys golf, cycling, surfing, mixed martial arts and spending time with his family.
Michael graduated from Quinnipiac University and is a licensed physical therapist in the State of New Jersey. He has over 23 years of experience in a variety of clinical settings, specializing in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), neuro and aquatic therapy. Michael Wylykanowitz Jr. joined the JAG Physical Therapy family in May 2011, and is currently treating patients as the Clinical Director of Rehabilitation at the Princeton facility. Ryan Skalka graduated from Salisbury University with a BS degree in Exercise Science Allied Health from Salisbury University. He then went on to earn a degree in Health Sciences from the University of St. Augustine in Austin, Texas in 2018. Ryan has been working at JAG since 2018, when he started his career at our West Orange facility. Ryan has a passion for sports related injuries, as well as surgical and general orthopedic cases. He is certified in the Graston Technique, Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFR), Functional Capacity Evaluation, and Rock Tape FMT. In his free time Ryan enjoys golfing, snowboarding, and spending summers at the beach in Sea Isle City.
Ryan is thee best Physical Therapist. I had a torn rotator cuff and he did an amazing job helping me recover. He is very professional yet personable. He motivated me to work hard but not over do it.This was my second injury and Ryan was so good the first time I followed him to his new location He is that good!!I must also mention how wonderful the entire staff is. From Maria who works up front with that friendly and inviting Hello; to all the PA's who helped set me up with my exercises, provided heat and ice or just a warm smile. Sarah joined JAG Physical therapy in October of 2015 where she started as an aide in our West Orange office. She completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Scranton and completed her PTA degree at Essex County Community College in May of 2018. Sarah is certified in LSVT BIG, BFR, is a kinesiology taping practitioner, and is a certified pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise specialist. She incorporates instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization and cupping into her practice as needed. Sarah enjoys treating all diagnosis and furthering her clinical knowledge through continuing education opportunities.

Sean Anthony Thomas graduated from Brown University in 2003 with a BS in psychology. While at Brown, he was a captain of the Division I track and field team and was Ivy League indoor and outdoor champion in the triple jump. Dr. Thomas graduated from SUNY Downstate Medical Center with his doctorate in physical therapy in 2011, where he earned the Alumnae Award for Leadership, the Community Service Award, and the Best Research Award for his thesis entitled "Facilitating a Positive Change in Physical Activity Level with African American Adolescent Girls using the Trans-Theoretical Model."
Dr. Thomas has been working at JAG PT since 2012 and is currently the Clinical Director of the Georgetown office. He is a Graston Provider, a certified kinesio tape practitioner, and is SFMA Level 2 certified. He is also JAG PT's Director of Community Engagement and Inclusion. Dr. Thomas has competed over 20 Spartan Races and is a 6-time marathoner, a former professional dancer, and the CEO of Be More Today, a company that provides information and inspiration to help ordinary people do extraordinary things in the world of health and fitness. He is the author of Be More Today: A 40-Day Guide to a Better Version of You and hosts a weekly podcast called The Be More Today Show. Dr. Thomas offers complimentary weekly workouts in Brooklyn and is the coach and team doctor for the Spartan Sundays Running Club.
Shawn graduated with a Bachelor's in Physiology from Boise State University in 2015. He then went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Methodist University in 2019. While still in school, Shawn started working at Jag's Fairfield location. In 2019, he transferred to Jag's Jersey City location and then transferred back to Fairfield in 2020. His favorite populations to treat are Spine, TMJ (Temporomandibular joint dysfunction), and Sports Medicine/Geriatrics patients. He is certified in HSS Rehabilitation and TMJ. Outside of working, he enjoys weightlifting, traveling, and hiking.

Since graduating from Penn State University in 2014 with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Stephanie Checchio has been a part of the JAG Physical Therapy team in various clinical and administrative roles. In her most current role, she works directly with the Chief Executive Officer in overall company strategy and development of growth initiatives. Most recently, Stephanie completed her Master of Business Administration degree from Caldwell University.
