YOUNG PRESERVATIONISTS ASSOCIATION

YPA is made by a history forged by the hard working men and women who selflessly created our built environment to provide us all with an everlasting sense of place; a place where the compelling stories of our lives play out in an elaborate drama staged in a landscape of bricks and mortar, terra-cotta, steel and glass; a tapestry of materials bound together in purpose and usefulness for all time. It's not just the buildings that we work to preserve-it's also the stories and the histories of the people who built them... YPA began in 2003 by shining a spotlight on the underserved historic sites in our community, especially those in the African-American community. Since our founding by Dan Holland, YPA's mission has been to empower young people to invite them to share their voices in how the history of our community should be preserved. We're here for you and invite everyone to work beside us and be counted; to lift up your voices and be heard, and to help us to fix the important historic..
