ATC Power Systems was founded by Joel Bedell in 1981 to design and manufacture power supplies for the demanding military market. In 1982, Mr. Bedell began negotiation with Larue Renfroe, owner of Assurance Technology Corporation, to provide financial backing to ATC Power during its start up years. Mr. Renfroe, a longtime associate provided the financial resources in 1983.
