Xtreme Optics president and founder Joe Nelson has been grinding lenses and creating solutions for optician practitioners and researchers for the past 38 years. He began working in labs when the technique was a purely hands-on effort unaided by computers and technology. His work with prism lenses led to the creation of the original Prism insert. In 1983, Joe took his past lab experience and helped open Eagle Optics in Georgia jointly with his brother. After selling the lab to a large multi-national lab in 2004, he opened Xtreme Optics as a custom ophthalmic lens laboratory specializing in low vision optic needs. Over the years, Joe has earned a reputation with his optician clients and researchers for innovative solutions for hard-to-make lenses and lens products. His creativity and passion to make the most attractive lens for his customers' patients results in a standard and quality unmatched by other labs. Joe backs his products with superior customer care and a commitment to one-on-one service. He understands the needs of his customers and provides fast service and experienced consultation that translates to valuable insights and reliable delivery for the benefit of his clients and their practices.
Xtreme Optics President and Founder, Joe Nelson, has a reputation for excellence. He has been working in lens laboratories for 32 years, developing innovative, attractive and creative solutions for the visually impaired and creating a standard of excellence for all his lens products.
Kristi has been with Xtreme Optics since 2011 as lab technician.
Melony has 28 years of experience as a lab technician, starting with Eagle Optics in June of 1984, where she handled all aspects of lab work. Melony joined Xtreme Optics in January of 2004.
Mick has been lab manager at Xtreme Optics since 2007. He was previously in the catering business and served in the Army 4th Class.
Pam has 27 years experience supporting optical labs. She first worked with Garmon Optical from 1985-1987 and then at Better Optics from 2000-2005. She joined the Xtreme Optics team in March of 2006.

Sandy is vice president of Xtreme Optics and handles all of the accounting for the lab. She has 41 years supporting optics labs, beginning in 1975 with Garmon Optical and then moving to Eagle Optics in 1983, where she managed customer service, inventory and data entry. Sandy was instrumental in the opening of Xtreme Optics in January of 2004.
