IES is a multi-disciplinary engineering body, founded in Scotland in 1857, that provides a forum in which individuals from all engineering and related disciplines can discuss and exchange information, generate ideas and encourage young engineers. IES works with kindred bodies to promote a wider understanding of the role of the professional engineer in society... The Institution of Engineers in Scotland (IES) promotes the exchange of information, new thinking and encourages young engineers... For members, other engineers and those who aspire to be engineers: we organise activities that members, who come from a wide range of disciplines, enjoy and from which they learn.
