Dr Richard H Binks

With over 30 years of project management experience in IPM (Integrated Pest Management), Richard has dedictaed his career to horiculture and agriculture worldwide. He obtained his PhD from the University of Reading, focusing on plant parasitic nematodes affecting tropical crops. Richard has an extensive background managing research projects and working as an extension nematologist and entomologist with ADAS (Agricultural Development and Advisory Service). He has also collaborated wih farming enterprises supplying European food retailers. Based in Cambridgeshire, Richard serves as a techincal consultant with Koppert UK. In close collaboration with Koppert's global agricultural teams, his primary objective resolves around developing biological and IPM systems for growers and farmers who produce both organic and conventionally grown outdoor crops. His expertise includes the formulation of insect pest control strategies using entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN's) across various agricultural, amenity, and forestry settings. Moreover, Richard specialises in devising augmentative insect release strategies specifically tailored for root and salad crops. Richard is also providing entomology support to Dragonfli and their Home and Garden professional horticultural customers. In addition to his consultancy work, Richard is an active committee member of the AAB Nematology group, further enhancing his involvement and commitment to the field.
