Andrew Joy Service

Job Titles:
  • Service Delivery Manager
Andrew joined Nexus at the start of 2018 and is responsible for the delivery of support to our customers. He brings a customer-centric focus to the way in which we work and enjoys building strong relationships with our customers. Andrew comes from a technical background but is constantly blown away by the depth of knowledge that our engineers have and the range of technologies we support and deliver. Andrew is certified in ITIL & Prince2, and a host of certifications based on the internal systems. He is involved with all parts of the business including sales, technical projects & marketing, and joined the Executive Team in 2021.

Andrew Slywka

Job Titles:
  • Service Delivery Team Leader
As the Service Delivery Team Leader, Andrew is able to use his strong technical background, combined with his customer service experience, to deliver an outstanding service to our clients. A critical part of Andrew's role is supporting his team to ensure that the team is meeting our clients' expectations and, where possible, going above and beyond to exceed them. Andrew is a strong believer in continuous self-development, improving himself and his team through feedback, personal training time or on-the-job coaching.

Chris Wilson

Job Titles:
  • Engineer
  • Head of New Business
  • Planning and Compliance Officer
Chris joined Nexus in 2009 after working for an online retailer who expanded rapidly in the early days of broadband internet. Chris managed the development and deployment of many Nexus software projects, before turning to work in Nexus's internal business processes. His work on Nexus's internal compliance involves subjects like data protection, client contracts and information security, he also selects and administers some of Nexus's business systems. Working with our marketing agency and Head of New Business, Chris also works on the website, social media, events and email output, trying to make it as helpful and relevant as possible for our customer base. Outside Nexus, Chris is a sound engineer working on live music events. He also takes his campervan out for family weekends away around the South West.

David Murray - CFO

Job Titles:
  • Finance Director
David is responsible for all aspects of the accounts for Nexus, and its related companies. This includes dealing with HMRC, auditors, customers and suppliers. He's also a member of the Executive Team and enjoys getting involved with all that it entails. David moved to Nexus in 2011, but before that he was the general manager of an import company supplying major supermarkets in the UK and Europe with their own branded stationery. At Nexus, hard work is acknowledged and appreciated so although David's role can be high-pressured, it's something he really enjoys about the job.

John Brett - COO

Job Titles:
  • Operations Director
John works closely with Stuart, our Managing Director, ensuring Nexus delivers to both our clients and our employees. Having previously worked in two large organisations in their internal IT function, John joined Nexus in 2017. John's probably got less certifications than many, Prince and ITIL being his most recent and relevant, but he has bags of experience thanks to previous roles. His ability to see a problem, break it down and then rebuild it into something that will work, occasionally whilst the other person is completing their sentence, is one of his specialities.

Matt Cook

Job Titles:
  • Head of Business Development
Matt joined Nexus in 2021 during the Covid pandemic. Originally, Matt came onboard as Business Development Manager but was soon promoted to Head of Business Development. His role is to manage and grow the Business Development team as well as looking at our products, services, and our marketing and commercial strategies. Matt also works closely with many of the teams within the business, to ensure all decisions aid the growth and overall success of the business. Matt takes great pride in ensuring his clients get the best solution for their needs instead of the most profitable solution for Nexus. This can at times seem counterintuitive, but he has found this approach leads to longer, more trusted, and all-round happier business relationships.

Stuart Wilson - Managing Director

Originally from an engineering background, Stuart has been working in IT since 1995. He learnt about IT by building his own PCs, doing basic programming and gaming. He became one of the founder members of Nexus in 1998 and was appointed as Finance Director which he held until 2017. The role of Finance Director requires engagement in all aspects of the business, meaning he has acquired a wide range of skills, which he hopes keeps him balanced as Managing Director. As a working father with a full-time working partner, Stuart ha s great appreciation for all the challenges faced by anyone bringing up children and he hope s that empathy is reflected in our culture at Nexus.
