His devotion to client satisfaction, attention to detail, and enthusiastic pursuit of quality design and building performance have made him a trusted advisor directly responsible for delivering some of the firm's most iconic projects to date, including Lovejoy Wharf, Converse, Inc.'s national headquarters, Massachusetts Mental Healthcare Center, and 480 Main at Malden Square. Tom leverages his aptitude and artistry as a designer to explore better ways to create meaningful places and enrich communities, with a special focus on environmental impact.
I've had the good fortune of working with Ed for over 20 years. Phil's experience includes new construction, adaptive reuse, and moderate rehabilitation across a range of sectors, including multifamily, commercial, mixed-use, senior living, assisted living facilities, continuum of care campuses, as well as work for the US Army Corps of Engineers.

Gary's background includes nearly 30 years of planning and design work for adaptive reuse, hospitality, multifamily residential, and assisted living and long-term care projects. Since joining TAT in 1991, Gary has helped lead a diverse array of projects, and has become known as a passionate advocate for architecture's ability to revitalize communities nationwide. Gary's current projects include planning and design for the Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences, a new 33-story mixed-use tower with a 154-key five-star hotel, 146 luxury condominiums, as well as retail and restaurant space. Upon completion, it will be the famous Raffles brand's first mixed-use property in North America.
Gary's other hospitality work includes TAT's award-winning Back Bay Hotel, the conversion of the historic former Boston police headquarters into a 220-key boutique hospitality destination. His affordable housing portfolio includes Uphams Crossing, the transformation of a former Archdiocese of Boston parish campus into 80 units of new workforce and permanent supportive housing combining adaptive reuse and new construction. Gary's recent healthcare work includes the White Plains Institute for Rehabilitation & Healthcare, an advanced skilled nursing facility in White Plains, New York.
In addition to his project work, Gary has spearheaded many of TAT's mentorship and professional development initiatives, including the firm's sponsorship of and advisory role in a longstanding student design competition at the Boston Architectural College, where Gary also served as a guest critic. A graduate of the Wentworth Institute of Technology, he is a registered architect in Massachusetts and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Kelly leverages her expertise in strategic marketing, corporate communications, and public relations to amplify the firm's brand and client engagement. A strategic thinker, she leads a multi-disciplinary team of public relations experts, marketers, and graphic designers to deliver innovative and creative solutions across a variety of communication channels. With every initiative, Kelly brings her passion for storytelling to engage and educate diverse audiences to maximize brand awareness and build enduring relationships with consistent internal and external messaging in support of TAT's goals. She is inspired by the impact that design has on people's daily lives and is focused on driving TAT's vision of creating positive and lasting transformation in the communities it serves.
An exemplary leader in historic preservation and adaptive reuse, Bob designed 50+ award-winning historic buildings. His work continues to be a hallmark of the firm's practice since its inception in 1971. Under his direction, TAT built a foundation of "lifetime" clients, enabling the firm to grow from four to more than 90 strong. Bob was a graduate of the Boston Architectural College and was registered in 27 states.
As Founder, Bob was instrumental in the preservation of hundreds of historic structures including Walter Baker Chocolate Factory, Boott Mills, Livingston School, Counting House Lofts, and Building 114. His expertise was sought-out in areas beyond traditional design services, particularly real estate development, where he was revered for his strategic and creative approach to developing underutilized assets, revitalizing communities and waterfronts through innovative reuse, and his keen understanding of urban development and agency financing programs.
Preserving the architectural heritage of distinct architectural regions throughout the U.S. served as the foundation of Bob's career. Bob proved that few historic buildings were too wide, too narrow or too specific for their original purpose to restore and adapt. He believed historic buildings were of too great importance to our identity and national diversity to be considered disposable. In 1988, Bob was personally honored by President Ronald Reagan with a National Historic Preservation Award for the preservation and adaptive reuse of the Baker Chocolate Factory complex. The range of his work and unparalleled depth of experience in historic preservation earned him elevation to Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects in 2012.

Michael Liu, Senior Partner and Design Principal at The Architectural Team, Inc. has directed the design of a wide range of developments across the hospitality, recreation, residential, mixed-use and commercial sectors. Over more than thirty years of building design, urban design and master planning experience, his work has been honored with awards from numerous professional and trade associations, including the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, and the Massachusetts Historical Commission, among others.
Michael's recent work includes waterfront developments, urban infill towers, medical campus master planning, and luxury urban hotel projects.
Actively committed to professional and community service, Michael has served on the Board of Directors of Bay Cove Human Services, as Chairman of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Greater Boston, the State Designer Selection Board for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and is a trustee of the Boston Architectural College. Meghann joins TAT with more than 15 years' experience and an impressive portfolio of work. She pursues a collaborative approach to design in which she has an ear for hearing a client's unique design aspirations and a gift for working with them to express their vision through unique and elegant solutions. Always mindful of both design vision and economic constraints, Meghann brings a team approach to working closely with clients, builders and vendors. As a practice leader she strives to bring out the best work of her talented colleagues, aligned with client goals and integrated with architectural staff, each informing the other to uncover design opportunities that would not have otherwise emerged.

As TAT's vice president of finance and administration for nearly 10 years, William has played an instrumental role in the firm's growth, helping shepherd its business operations as it has expanded to comprise a staff of more than 90 people. William has previously served as a leading consultant with professional services firm PwC, as a finance director for design firms including Svigals + Partners in New Haven, CT., and as CFO for venture-backed startups SportsMedicine Systems and Visible Markets. He holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and finance from the Syracuse University Martin J. Whitman School of Management.
I have worked with Mike for 20 years on many different development projects. His team has consistently provided AvalonBay with excellent design and client service. TAT is attentive to our goals and delivers a cost effective design package on the promised schedule. His designs are creative, practical, timeless and efficient. Mike thinks like an owner.

Meghann joins TAT as the firm's director of interior design, and as a highly respected leader with nearly 15 years' experience in design and project management for multifamily and single-family residential, institutional, hospitality, and corporate workplace interiors. Known in the field for her creative design vision, her collaborative problem-solving abilities, and her management and business development acumen, Meghann's approach accords well with TAT's focus on skillfully meeting client needs. With a keen interest in sustainability and end-user wellbeing, she also brings valuable insights on the latest design techniques for environmental benefits, wellness, and mindfulness.
In her role as TAT's director of interior design, Meghann will be responsible for managing the firm's extensive national roster of interiors work ranging from asset repositioning and adaptive reuse, to large-scale new construction for senior and assisted living, affordable rental, and luxury condominium housing. Prior to joining TAT, Meghann served as a senior interior designer with Dyer Brown Architects in Boston. She holds a Master in Interior Design from Marymount University.
Kelly leverages her expertise in strategic marketing, corporate communications, and public relations to amplify the firm's brand and client engagement. Known for expertise in housing, hospitality, and master planning work and for extensive collaborations with many of the country's leading multifamily housing developers, Edward has played an important role in TAT's continued growth and success since joining the firm in 1991. Highlights of his project work include numerous award-winning residential communities, such as the redevelopment of an 18-acre former hospital site into Arlington 360, a 200-unit residential campus in Arlington, Mass., Battery Wharf, a four-building, $180 million waterfront complex on Boston Harbor; and a broad portfolio of work for national developers including master planning and design for large-scale residential communities across the northeastern United States.
Edward is often sought out by clients for his ability to successfully translate brand values and complex programmatic needs into market-leading design solutions, and his collaborations with national developer AvalonBay Communities have led to the completion of more than 3,000 residential units in multiple distinctive apartment communities. As an expert voice on the desires of multifamily tenants and buyers, Edward's input on residential amenities has helped to shape trends nationwide. In his new position as a principal at TAT, Ed will take on an expanded leadership and managerial role, while continuing his award-winning project work. A registered architect in Massachusetts and New Jersey, he holds a Master of Architecture from the State University of New York, Buffalo.

Anthony has more than 20 years of experience as a project manager and is a member of TAT's leadership team. His decisive and thoughtful management style helps to achieve desired results for clients - safeguarding design quality and regulatory requirements as well as adeptly directing schedules and budgets. Anthony spearheads the complex process of transforming a program into a building by leading the project team through effective communication, collaboration, and approachability. His project experience includes both new construction and historic adaptive reuse, with a specific proficiency in assisted living and multifamily housing.
With more than 30 years of development in ground-up construction and historic adaptation of underutilized assets, I recognize when partnerships have value. I've had the pleasure of working with Phil on complex pro-jects - his design expertise and project management capabilities are essential to each project's success. Michael Binette, as Senior Partner and Managing Principal, is involved in all facets of design - from facility space programming, design and planning through construction administration. Since joining the firm in 1982, Mike has been responsible for the master planning, design, and construction administration of multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial developments.
His award-winning work includes Arlington 360, ranked #1 by Urban Land Institute for the Next Wave of Mixed-Income Housing, and Bourne Mill Apartments, having earned recognition at both the regional and national level by the American Institute of Architects, the Boston Society of Architects, and the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association, among others. His latest work includes Sibley Square in Rochester, NY, Bower in Boston, MA and Harbor Place in Haverhill, MA.
Mike currently serves on the Caritas Communities Board of Directors, and the Development Committee for The Neighborhood Developers. He previously served as a Chair on the Housing Committee for Boston Society of Architects, and was a Building Committee Member for the Masconomet Regional School system. Mike is registered in 26 states and holds a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology.
