Andrew McCracken

Job Titles:
  • Associate - UX Designer
Andrew graduated with a degree in Interactive Multimedia design from the University of Ulster and has over 6 years' industry experience as a designer in multiple capacities. After a university placement in Used CarsNI, Andrew was a digital designer for Randox before branching out into a variety of other roles: he worked as a freelance product designer for CliniShare and Ardluce, started a clothing brand called Zion Apparel, and then ran a Little Husky small design studio with a business partner. Andrew is product lead and co-founder of Gofyt, an online platform that makes it easy to find and book a local health and fitness professional. Outside of work, Andrew loves exploring Ireland, in particular, the sights and sounds of Northern Ireland's North Coast.

Ben O'Donnell

Job Titles:
  • Associate - UX Designer
Ben is a designer of digital products, services and experiences. Hugely passionate about human-centred design, he believes that great products and services come from engaging directly with end users. With a degree in Product Design from the Glasgow School of Art, before working in advertising as a service designer, Ben brings a wide range of problem solving and creative skills to our client's challenges. Ben has delivered experience design solutions for national and global brands, such as Walmart, Rolex, TUI, Nespresso, BT, EE and more, optimising the customer experiences within their various products and service divisions. In his spare time, Ben can be found sharpening his design skills and knowledge through self-initiated learning and freelance projects. Ben is also a keen photographer and lover of the great outdoors; enjoying nothing more than a bit of weekend cycling and indulging in some overpriced coffee.

Caelan Trodden

Job Titles:
  • UX Researcher
Caelan specialises in research and analysis of user-centred data to provide practical insight for our client's experience design projects. Caelan is fascinated with human behaviour, leading him to undertake an undergraduate and Master's degree in Sociology, specialising in qualitative research methods. This led to social and health market research opportunities where he developed fieldwork and analysis skills working on client projects. 

Prior to joining Fathom, Caelan has planned and delivered research projects for several government departments across the NI Civil Service. Most notably, Caelan has been frequently leading a project to understand the experience of vulnerable groups, most notably Syrian refugees, resettled in NI through the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS). 
 Caelan enjoys collaborating with clients and our wider team to find ways to get closer to user needs at each stage of the design process. Caelan is passionate about informing the design of more accessible and inclusive experiences. 
When Caelan is not planning his next Scandinavian holiday, he plays 6 a-side football or is in the kitchen trying to recreate a dish seen on chef Anthony Bourdain's show ‘No Reservations'.

Christine McDowell

Christine is a recent graduate of Ulster University Belfast, where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Interaction Design. Previous to this she studied engineering, with specialisms ranging from electronics to software, enabling her to bring fresh problem-solving, systems-design thinking to her design work. Christine has experience working across a variety of projects and UX deliverables, conducting research and designing user-centred interfaces for clients such as, Prestige Insurance, Advice NI, Mahlatini and Titanic Belfast. Passionate about creating exceptional and inclusive and empathetic human experiences through design, Christine's love for helping people and problem solving is what drove her towards UX Design as a career. In her spare time, Christine builds and repairs electronic devices, is a keen artist and illustrator, loves getting a chance to travel and at the weekends spending time outdoors with her French Bulldog, Kodi.

Conor McCann

  • Senior UX Designer
Conor is passionate about creating high-performing mobile, digital and interactive online services. With over six years' experience creating online solutions, Conor has project experience across a range of sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, sports, retail, and tourism. As a graduate of Interactive Multimedia Design at Ulster University, and with a wealth of digital agency experience, Conor has obtained a diverse range of design, communication, teamwork and leadership skills, enabling him to confidently adapt to a range of client and internal needs. Conor's experience and critical mindset, allows him to lead from the front with an analytical approach; ranging from defining business requirements to building empathy with end-user needs. His focus when beginning any project is ensuring he can improve how customers engage and get value with products and services, through user-centred design. When Conor's not designing exceptional experiences, he will be found either training for his next hurling game, or flying a drone along a coastal landscape.

Dan Sweeney

Dan graduated with a degree in Design Ergonomics from Loughborough University and developed a keen interest in user experience design while designing products and interfaces during his studies. Fathom is his first stop in the UX design industry, He is keen to learn how to improve user experience by understanding the needs of users and applying UX design principles. In his spare time, Dan coaches swimming and loves hitting the surf on Northern Ireland's north coast. He's a big sports fan and a die-hard Munster Rugby supporter.

Gerard Curry

Gerard has over 10 years events industry experience running business conferences, training workshops, seminars and roadshows initially through his own company Eventure and more recently contracting his services out to run events on behalf of other client companies. Specialising in the Digital and Communications sectors he has worked with many local companies and business development organisations including, Ionology, Linkubator, Tibus, Digital Marketing Institute, University of Ulster, Chambers of Commerce, Institute of Directors, the BBC, UTV, Belfast Telegraph.

Ian Robb

Job Titles:
  • Associate UX Designer
Ian decided to change careers from manufacturing in 2018, to move into the world of digital design and development and along the way, he discovered a love for UX design. He is currently studying Interaction Design at Ulster University, Belfast exploring this passion for creating empathetic digital experiences that deliver accessibility and delight for users. Outside of university, Ian enjoys travelling far and wide, walking in the steps of the natives and taking the phrase "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" to its limits. Ian also enjoys music and reguarly plays the guitar, which he taught himself at 16 and also ‘grand strategy' games are a big hobby of his. Ian's favourite games developer, ‘Paradox Interactive', has taken many a Saturday from him.
