Gateway Rail Services, Inc. is located just across the Mississippi River from downtown St. Louis, in Madison, Illinois. Our facility occupies a portion of the former Chicago & North Western's Madison yard - the southern terminus of the Litchfield and Madison Railway - the original St. Louis Gateway Route... Gateway Rail Services, Inc. is owned and operated by railcar owners, who share a passion for repairing and restoring railcars. Distressed over the increasingly limited number of high quality service shops available to service their own cars, the owners of Gateway Rail Services, Inc. began servicing railcars in 2003. Clients of Gateway Rail Services are diverse, and include government agencies, class one railway companies, regional and short-line railways, museums and tourist railroads, as well as private railcar owners.
