Derek T.Y. Wong

Mr. Derek T.Y. Wong joined Grant Sherman in May 2007 as a business valuer in the Business and Derivative Valuation Department. Since joining the company, he has involved in projects in valuation of business enterprises, intellectual properties, intangible assets, financial guarantees, convertible bonds and various kinds of options and warrants. Mr. Wong is an experienced appraiser and served clients from numerous industries, including agriculture, building and construction, electronics, entertainment and gaming, food processing, garment manufacturing, home furnishings, hygiene and sanitary, information technology, mining, pharmaceutical and healthcare, retail chain stores, steel manufacturing, and telecommunication, etc. With his extensive knowledge and coverage, he also advises on corporate and deal structures to facilitate mergers and acquisitions and presented as an expert witness in the High Court of Hong Kong. Prior to joining the valuation industry, Mr. Wong was the Product Manager of Factoring Department of DBS Bank (Hong Kong) Limited, in where he managed the debtors' portfolio and evaluated creditworthiness of debtors for factoring facilities. Mr. Wong graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Finance (1st Class Honors) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is a CFA charterholder and a Certified FRM.

Mr. Keith C.C. Yan - Managing Director

Mr. Keith C.C. Yan is the founder and Managing Director of Grant Sherman. He oversees the management of valuation and consulting services in all aspects. Mr. Yan is a MBA graduate from the University of Manitoba, Canada. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (Business Valuation) of the American Society of Appraisers. Mr. Yan is one of the most experienced appraisers in Hong Kong who has practised valuation and in Asia Pacific region since 1988. Prior to forming Grant Sherman, he served as the Senior Vice President at American Appraisal Hongkong Limited. He has been involved in valuation services for a wide variety of business enterprises for the purposes of sale, merger, allocation of purchase price, accounting and tax, majority and minority stock interests, public listing, and strategic joint-ventures. He has also had significant experience in the valuation of intangible assets including trademarks, patents, know-how, license agreements, quotas, assembled workforce, copyrights, distribution networks, and computer software. He was involved in the valuation of intangible assets or business enterprises for public document purposes for clients from a wide variety of industries including metal fabrication, power generation, publishing fashion retailing, food and beverage, transportation, automobile, Internet, telecommunications, property development, infrastructure, electronics, bio-tech, pharmaceutical, newspaper, entertainment, petro-chemical, software, satellite, construction, oil and gas and hospitality. He has written numerous articles about valuation in Hong Kong and China and is a regular speaker at conferences on the same topic. He is the chartered president of the ASA Hong Kong China Chapter.

Nick H.T. Tam

Mr. Nick H.T. Tam joined Grant Sherman in February 2022. Mr. Tam is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Prior to joining Grant Sherman, he is an experienced auditor from one of the Big Four accounting firms with over 13-year experience in providing audit and assurance services to a wide range of state-owned/multinational private/listed clients from various industries, including real estate, building and construction, telecommunication, media, information technology, pharmaceutical and healthcare, corporate service, luxury branding and manufacturing etc. He has expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and reporting matters related to Hong Kong Stock Exchange and U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission requirements with extensive knowledge in business valuation for initial public offering and financial reporting in Hong Kong and the U.S. Mr. Tam graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration (accounting and finance) from the University of Hong Kong.
