Lightingtheweb.com started as an electrical installation company back in the 1950's. Lightingtheweb has gone through several changes in its travels to an online lighting retailer. At one time the company sold appliances, refrigerators, washers, dryers and even televisions. Deciding to focus mostly on the electrical business in the 1970's it operated as a lighting showroom and electrical distribution center for local customers in the Bountiful Utah area since that time. It operated this way until 2001 when the business was officially split into two separate companies: an electrical distributor and a residential lighting showroom. As times have changed and the online market expanded for products and business's, Lightingtheweb started the online division in 2008. At this time the financial crisis occurred and the decision was made to massively reduce the showroom aspect and focus mainly on the online business.
