Courtney Taylor graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science in Justice Administration and minored in Communications. Courtney has also interned in the summer with the Office of the Commonwealth in Lexington, KY. Prior to working as a Victim Advocate, she has worked as an Assessment Case Manger with the Department of Child Services, as well as a Pretrial Officer for the Administrative Office of the Courts.
Under the United States and Kentucky Constitutions, a person accused of a felony offense can be prosecuted only after being indicted by a Grand Jury. The division acts as legal advisor to the Grand Jurors, citizens empanelled monthly, presenting evidence to the twelve person body in support of charges brought by warrant or police arrest.

Mrs. Butler graduated cum laude from Sullivan University with a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies in 2008. While in school, she served as a paralegal intern in the Domestic Violence & Child Abuse Unit at the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office. The internship developed into a full time position. In 2010, Mrs. Butler successfully completed the KPA certification exam and became a Certified Kentucky Paralegal. Mrs. Butler is a professional member of the Louisville Association of Paralegals, Kentucky Paralegal Association, and the Louisville Bar Association. Mrs. Butler is currently assigned to the Special Victims Unit.

Post-baccalaureate in Paralegal Studies, Sullivan University; Retired detective with LMPD Financial Crimes; Retired from Kentucky Army National Guard 615th MP Det (CID); Member of River City Lodge #614; member of Board of Advisers for Active Heroes, a non-profit organization whose mission is to work with active duty military, veterans and their families in the prevention of suicide among the military community.
