David H. Ferris Jr. - President

Dave has been in the security and law enforcement fields his entire adult life. Prior to Metroguard, he was an Account Manager and Branch Manager for a global security company. As such, he was responsible for the overall management of 600 employees, generating 15M a year in revenue. As a State of CT armed security instructor, Dave teaches basic and advanced courses to enhance skills and understanding of law in use of force. Dave retired from a local police department, having advanced to the rank of lieutenant. His assignments included Shift Commander, Investigative Division, Training Division, Rangemaster, Youth Officer, and Public Information Officer. He was a CT police academy certified instructor and taught several use of force disciplines and Critical Incident Management courses. As a former EMT, he was responsible for the department's Medical Unit. Dave was also assigned to the Special Response Team as the Team Leader. He consulted to local schools and businesses in crisis planning and physical security. Prior to becoming a police officer, Dave was employed by ADT Alarm Systems, the Connecticut Department of Corrections, J.C. Penney Company, and was a Security Manager for the D.M. Read's Company. He served active & reserve duty with the United States Army. Dave has a Master's Degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor's Degree in Law and Society and an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration. He was an adjunct instructor at the University of New Haven teaching criminal justice courses.

Paul R. Aaronson - COO

Paul Aaronson is a senior financial services executive with over 35 years of diverse experience in asset management, alternatives investing, new product development and global securities law. Aaronson is currently the Chief Operating Officer of i(x) investments, an investment firm that is focused on environmental and social impact. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of i(x) Financial Services, a subsidiary of i(x) investments that owns a broker dealer. Previous roles in his career have included managing director and Chief Administrative Officer, Equities, at Guggenheim Partners Investment Management and Chief Operating Officer of its Global Equities team; founder of a financial consulting firm that advised on a variety of projects relating to alternative investment platforms, exchange traded funds and investment indices; Chief Executive Officer of a registered investment advisor with a managed accounts platform that facilitated access to hedge fund managers across a variety of investment strategies; co-founder of several hedge fund start-ups; Executive Managing Director at Standard & Poor's, responsible for its Index and Portfolio Advisors groups; and Executive Director at Morgan Stanley in London and New York, where he was Global Product Manager for index basket products and ETFs, having been instrumental in developing the first exchange traded funds to be focused on international equities. Paul began his career as a securities lawyer for Sullivan & Cromwell in New York before joining Morgan Stanley in London as in-house counsel.

Troy Haynie

Troy Haynie is a retired teacher, coach, and school administrator. He is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician and has been active in EMS administration and crisis management for 25 years. Troy has attended many mass-casualty and gathering events including the 9/11 terrorist attacks. He holds several FEMA sponsored National Incident Management System (NIMS) Certifications in scene management, along with active shooter and hazardous material training. With this background, his school asked him to be its Director of Safety & Security. He held this position for six-years prior to his retirement. While in this position, he was responsible for all of his school's security and risk management. He re-drafted his school's Crisis Management Plan and conducted all of the training, communication, and ongoing correspondence. Troy served as a partner in a mutli-disciplinary consulting firm that performed safety and security audits at schools around the country. He also took part in peer audits with the other schools and organizations in his area. Troy envisions growing the Metroguard Risk Management division into a well-respected and trusted resource to companies, religious organizations, and schools across the country. He has vetted a staff of professionals with backgrounds in Education, Law Enforcement, Crisis Management, and Firefighting to assist with any client requests or needs. His focus is to empower his clients so that they are better prepared in a crisis situation.
