Dr. Colette Cuijpers

Dr. Colette Cuijpers, LL.M. (1976) studied European and Dutch Law at Tilburg University, the Netherlands. She received her PhD in law for a study on the possibility and desirability of implementation of the European privacy directive into the Dutch Civil Code. She is currently Associate Professor at TILT, the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society and Professor of Applied Science at the University of Applied Sciences Avans-Fontys faculty of law. She has participated in research programmes in the field of privacy, liability law, e-government, intellectual property rights, and domain names. She is the author of a book concerning liability of the government for electronic communications and was editor and co-author of a book concerning the processing of personal data during mergers in multinational concerns. .

Dr. M. Oskar

Dr. M. Oskar van Deventer is senior scientist op blockchain networking en self-sovereign identity. Zijn focus is op public-private R&D partnerschappen, European collaboratieve R&D projecten en internationale standaarden. Hij is actieve bijdrager aan o.a. Sovrin, Hyperledger, ISO, MPEG, HbbTV en DVB. Oskar is benoemd lid van de Economic Advisory Council van Sovrin, 's werelds leidende blockchain voor self-sovereign identity. Oskar leidt ook diverse projecten op blockchain en self-sovereign identity in het Techruption programma, een Nederlands private-public partnerschap op admintech. Hij is auteur van een boek, meer dan 150 publicaties, meer dan 80 octrooiaanvragen, meer dan 800 standaardisatie bijdragen en een Guinness wereldrecord.

Greg Alpar

Greg Alpar is assistant professor at the Open Universiteit and visiting researcher at the Radboud University's Digital Security group. Previously I was a post-doctorate lecturer and researcher at RU's Comuter Science department within the Digital Security group, after finishing my PhD project also there. During my PhD I was also a member of the TNO Security department. My background is mathematics and education (Master of Science at ELTE, Budapest, Hungary), coding theory and cryptography (Professional Doctorate in Engineering at TU/e in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in the program Mathematics for Industry). My Ph.D. was about about Attribute-based identity management.

Mara Paun

Mara Paun is a PhD researcher at Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology, and Society, working on mechanisms for legal protection against information-induced harms within the INFO-LEG project. She obtained LLB in International and European Law from the University of Groningen in 2015, followed by an LLM in Law and Technology (cum laude) in 2016 from Tilburg University, specializing in data protection, biotechnology and IP. Subsequently, she worked as a researcher in the Study on Anti-doping and Data Protection, led by TILT (2016-2017), which resulted in several publications, and a research assistant working with Prof. Eleni Kosta within her VENI project on privacy and surveillance (2017).

Prof. Dr. Eleni Kosta

Prof. Dr. Eleni Kosta is full Professor of Technology Law and Human Rights at the Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology and Society (TILT, Tilburg University, the Netherlands). Eleni obtained her law degree at the University of Athens (Greece) in 2002 and a Masters degree in Public Law at the same University in 2004. In 2005 she completed an LL.M. in legal informatics at the University of Hannover (Germany) and in 2011 she was awarded the title of Doctor of Laws at the KU Leuven (Belgium) with a thesis on consent in data protection. Eleni is conducting research on privacy and data protection, specialising in electronic communications and new technologies, as well as on health law. She has been involved in numerous EU research projects and is teaching "Technology & Intellectual Property Rights" at the LLM Law & Technology of the Tilburg Law School.
