Rigsrevisionen are divided into 2 departments, each focusing on our 2 core tasks. Rigsrevisionen is headed by Auditor General Birgitte Hansen in collaboration with 4 heads of departments... Rigsrevisionen was established in its current form on 1 January 1976, but the task of the Public Accounts Committee was first described in Denmark's Constitution of 1849... Rigsrevisionen audits public spending on behalf of the Danish parliament and seeks to strengthen the accountability of public administration to the benefit of the citizens. We audit the government accounts and financial statements of publicly funded enterprises, and verify the legality and effective use of public funds.
