As an art form, the brass band has a long and rich tradition dating back over one hundred and fifty years. With its successful Toronto Concert Series, highly regarded recordings, frequent radio broadcasts and performances at such high profile events as the Winnipeg New Music Festival, The Festival of the Sound and the Massey Hall New Music Festival, the HSSB has gained and enviable reputation both in Canada and on the international brass scene.
