Gustav Kodl

Gustav Kodl graduated in the construction of machines and instruments at the Electrical Engineering Faculty of ZČU in Plzeň in 1994. After university education he became involved in the elaboration of regional energy plans and energy audits at Ökoplan s.r.o. České Budějovice. He then worked at the EGÚ Energy Institute in České Budějovice, where he took part in the design, development and implementation of quenching choke tuning automatics in distribution networks and other parts of distribution networks. In 1999, he joined JČP a.s. České Budějovice as an independent gas regulation station technician. Since 2000, he has been working at SEVEn in České Budějovice, where he is involved in elaborating of regional energy plans, energy audits, technical and economic analyses and the evaluation of energy conservation. In the year 2007 he successfully passed state exam and obtained certificate of energy auditor no.

Jan Veleba

Jan Veleba (1990) completed his Master's thesis on the topic of Economy of the nearly zero-energy buildings in February 2016 and finished his studies at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in Prague. He studied Master's degree in Construction Management and before that he studied an undergraduate program in Architecture and Building Engineering. Jan works at SEVEn since 2015 as a Consultant. His focus is on national and international projects related to the nearly zero-energy buildings policies and technical aspects, energy audits, building energy indicators and performance evaluations.

Jana Szomolányiová

Job Titles:

Jana Szomolányiová (born 1973) manages and participates in international projects to promote the use of potential energy savings in the Czech Republic and other Central and Eastern European countries (projects such as ChangeBest, Combines, Re-Co, Buysmart and others). She specialises in developing the market for energy performance contracting (EPC), also in conjunction with other funding models. In the past, she managed and took part in resolving a number of projects aimed at transposing European Union legislation in the field of reducing the emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases. These projects often included modelling the development of the national economy, energy consumption and pollutant emissions. She participated in preparing a proposal to support electricity production from renewable sources and formulating the text of the decrees by the Energy Regulatory Office for the Act on the Support of Using Renewable Energy Sources. Apart from SEVEn, she has worked in several strategic and business positions at RWE in the Czech Republic and in Germany. She is the author of many articles and studies regarding the use of economic instruments to promote energy savings and the use of renewable energy sources, drawing upon her valuable experience gained on study and research stays at the University of Essex, Keele University and the University of Aberystwyth in the UK. She obtained her master's degree in economics at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Charles University in Prague.

Jaroslav Maroušek - Chairman

Jaroslav Maroušek (1951) has a degree in Economics and Energy Management from the Czech Technical University. After working for a short time at Škoda company on assembling electric power plants, he crossed over to research. In this capacity, he worked on energy efficiency issues in energy sectors and later created energy forecast models for energy needs. From 1985 Mr. Maroušek led a team of experts working in the field of energy efficiency. In his work he focused especially on analysis of relationship between economy and energy sector. In his dissertation thesis he presented/submitted Input/Output analysis of the energy intensity of Czechoslovak economy and in the year 1992 he defended it and obtained a degree of candidate of sciences in the sector(corresponding to PhD) of department and cross-section economy. After 1989, he worked as the Director of the Energy Policy Division at VÚPEK (The Research Institute for the Fuel and Energy Sector) in Prague, one of the premier energy research institutes in the Czech Republic. He has been employed as a director of SEVEn since its founding in December 1990. Since October 2008 he is a chairman of the SEVEn Board and he works as a Executive head of SEVEn Energy s.r.o. He is the author of many articles and studies and gave many lectures in Czech Republic and abroad. He is a member of boards of directors of the energy efficiency centers in Poland (FEWE), Bulgary (Eneffect) and in Ukraine (ArenaEko). He is also a member of the supervisory board of the Energy Managers Association. He served as a project consultant to the World Bank and a consultant to UNDP. He participated as an expert in many expert groups including the Expert Team for Independent Evaluation of Completion of the Temelín Power Plant, established by the Czech government. During the time period 2000-2001 Mr. Maroušek represented the Czech Republic in the Ad-Hoc Open-ended Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Energy and Sustainable Development at UN.

Jiří Karásek

Jiří Karásek (1980) graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague in 2005, continued his doctoral studies at the same faculty and, in 2012, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on Energy Efficiency Modelling during the Building Life Cycle. He attended a one-year internship at the Fachhochschule Oldenburg in the Federal Republic of Germany. In FRG, he also worked for a private company, where he participated in the development of a computational tool for return on energy requirements of buildings. After his return, he worked at the State Environmental Fund in the Department of Program Strategies of the Green Investment Scheme section as a RES and energy savings specialist for two and a half years. He has been working for SEVEn since 2012. He participates to a number of national and international projects and specializes in the construction and low-energy buildings sector in terms of subsidies and support programs, economic aspects of reducing energy consumption in buildings and greenhouse gases, and implementing building related legislation.

Juraj Krivošík

Juraj Krivošík (1975) graduated from the Faculty of Commerce at the University of Economics in Bratislava and the Energy Studies programme at the University of Sheffield in the UK. He has participated in educational programs in the USA, Norway and Slovakia. He has been with SEVEn since 2000, and since 2008 has served as the Company's director. He is the coordinator and partner of a number of international projects dealing with energy labelling of products in terms of market surveillance mechanisms, the identification and promotion of energy-efficient models and the international exchange of experience in applying legislation on energy labelling. He is involved in projects in the field of energy efficient lighting, product testing for energy consumption, energy labelling inspection at sales points, promoting energy-efficient products, etc. He coordinates and participates in projects organised in a number of countries from the EU, Eastern and Central Europe. The author of many articles and publications, he has lectured in many countries on the theme of implementing legislation, market surveillance and consumer education in the area of energy labelling and the efficient use of energy.

Michal Staša

Job Titles:

Michal Staša (1979) studied power engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague. He focused his studies on light technologies and lighting. He studied Civil Society Studies at Charles University in Prague. From 2005 to 2008, he worked as a lighting designer providing clients with interior and exterior lighting systems. He has been working at SEVEn as a consultant since 2008. He specializes in indoor lighting and street lighting as well. He worked on several projects aiming to reduce energy consumption of lighting systems (for example in the Czech National Theatre). He participated in the research of street lighting in the Czech Republic in 2010. He works on energy audits and participates in H2020 projects: quality and energy saving lighting in households (PremiumLight), municipal energy efficiency (Covenant of Mayors), street lighting (ESOLi), third sector lighting (Premiumlight Pro) and projects focused on green public procurement and projects focused on energy saving appliances (YAECI, Efficiency 2.1, Topten Act project, ProCold). He has written several articles about energy labeling, Ecodesign in lighting, energy saving appliances and green public procurement.

Tomáš Voříšek - CTO

Since his studies, a five-year masters' course in Economics and Management at the University of South Bohemia, Tomáš Voříšek (born 1977) has mainly specialised in assessing technical and economic conditions and the options for using renewable energy sources, especially biomass and biogas. Since joining the company (2001), his professional focus has gradually expanded to secondary energy sources, in particular waste, and he has become the organisation's main specialist for the entire area of AES (alternative energy sources). In accordance with the firm's focus, his engagement with AES has taken the perspective of evaluating economic and energy efficiency and their environmental benefits in order to continue to explore the options for possible improvement. Since 2010, he has held the position of technical director and is responsible for the professional quality of all technically-oriented corporate outputs, including projects focusing on energy savings (energy audits, feasibility studies, EPC). He has also spent many years endeavouring to promote similar themes in the transport sector (i.e., introducing more efficient power sources and fuels, etc.).
