Ten years ago our behavioral health center began to search for an IT solution to help manage the complexities of rapidly changing compliance regulations, documentation, and billing requirements. We were looking for a seamless information management tool that would link disparate systems and help improve how we provide services to meet our core mission and strategic goals. We needed a system that would help increase efficiency, improve productivity, turnaround declining revenues, and provide a fully functioning electronic health record (EHR) system. At the time, leading software vendors told us if we wanted a system with all of the features we were looking for and expected, we should build it ourselves. So we did.
