TWO RIVERS VETS - Key Persons

Carol Calder

My name is Carol Calder, and I work at the Biggar Surgery. I do evening surgeries and Saturday mornings, as Receptionist and general dogsbody. My hobbies are reading, walking and doing agility with my young German Shepherd Breeze. I am coordinator for Peebles and Biggar Cats Protection, and I also look after foster cats awaiting homes. I previously opened and ran the Pet Shop in Biggar for eight years

David Campbell

I grew up helping out on my family's farm on the north coast of N Ireland and first came over to Scotland to study at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. After qualifying in 1998 I went back home to work in a mixed practice in rural Co Tyrone but returned to Scotland when I married in 2000 and started work in Biggar at the start of 2001 when the practice was owned by Les Clerihew. I enjoy the challenges of mixed practice and relish the opportunity to develop my skills with as wide a range of species as possible. I live in Biggar with my wife Nicola, my dog Scrappy and five hens, surrounded by old bits of Landrover.

Jacqui Warwick

Hi, my name is Jacqui and I am the Receptionist at the Biggar Surgery. I have worked here since July 2005 when Trevor took over the practice. I have had a love of animals since being born and raised on a farm, and have always had dogs as pets. I have a lurcher called Jade and she is 11 years old. My hobbies include walking Jade, reading, crossword puzzles and swimming.

Kirsty Barron

I joined Two Rivers Veterinary Practice in January 2011 having qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in July 2010. I have previously done locum work for the PDSA. I have an interest in equine work but am thoroughly enjoying the variety that a truly mixed practice offers.

Laura Robson

I joined Two Rivers Veterinary Practice in January 2010. I qualified as a veterinary nurse in August 2004, after completing a course at The College of Animal Welfare in Edinburgh whilst working at a veterinary practice in Gorebridge. Since qualifying I have worked in 2 busy referral practices and also Edinburgh Vet School for Small Animals, where I developed a keen interest in surgical nursing. I took time out to travel in Australia in 2007 and also worked there as a locum veterinary nurse.

Trevor Black

Originally from Belfast, I qualified from the University of Glasgow Veterinary School in 1998. I began my career in Cockermouth, Cumbria, working for two years in a busy mixed practice. Following this I travelled the country doing locum work for a further two years, gaining experience in a wide variety of types of practice. I then held the position of senior assistant at Links Veterinary Practice in Haddington. I was always keen to own my own practice one day, and when the opportunity arose to purchase Two Rivers Vets in 2005, I jumped at the chance. I have really enjoyed the challenge of modernising and developing the business in Biggar and Peebles, and along with the rest of the staff aim to provide the best possible service to all clients and their animals.
