Alexander Mureithi

Alex, a Kenyan citizen based in the Kenya office and a Senior Consultant at Agri Frontier, has over 12 years financial and investment experience. Alex prior experience included the role of Business Analyst with the Kenya Markets Trust (KMT), a Kenyan non governmental institution focused on the agricultural sector. At KMT, Alex worked with stakeholders at each unit to deliver advisory services by identifying gaps in financial systems and recommending solutions. Alex has also worked as a Financial Analyst at Nielsen in charge of Sub Sahara Africa and as an Analyst at Neuberger Berman (formerly Lehman Brothers) in Dallas, Texas. Alex has a BSc Accounting and Information Management degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and is pursing an MBA Strategic Management from the United States International University - Africa.

Andrew Ritchie - Managing Director

Andrew has worked in the African agribusiness and finance industry for over 15 years, living in East Africa between 2002 and 2014, and is the founder and Managing Director of Agri Frontier. Andrew worked as CFO of Finlays, a wholly owned subsidiary of John Swire & Sons, with extensive tea and horticultural operations in East Africa (22,000 employees). Andrew also worked as an Investment Manager with ALTIMA Partners LLP, a $2.5 billion alternative investment manager focusing on the agri sector. Andrew's combined experience of ‘C' level finance roles for one of Africa's largest integrated agri-groups together with working in Africa focused agri-investment for a large Private Equity fund manager was the catalyst for founding Agri Frontier. Andrew has a BSc (Hons) Agricultural Business Management degree from the University of London and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Brian Ndegwa

Brian is an agri-finance professional with over 9 years of audit and finance experience having worked on multiple audit and advisory engagements across East Africa and is a Senior Agribusiness Financial Consultant within the Growth Hub division at Agri frontier. He is motivated to help clients in the agri sector find opportunities to scale their business and improve food security in the country. His expertise include; financial due diligence, business valuation, financial modelling, audit, financial reporting and analysis, risk management and market research. Prior to joining Agri Frontier, Brian worked with Offgrid.finance as a Senior Financial and Risk Consultant with a focus on SMEs in the renewable energy and agri-tech sectors. He's also worked with KPMG and Deloitte in both audit and corporate finance units as well as with Lexo Energy as the Head of Financial Reporting and Controls. He has a BSc in Strategic Management from Moi University, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and is currently pursuing an MBA in Strategy from Liverpool John Moore University.

Charlotte Ochieng

Charlotte is a Development Finance Professional, and a Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA). Her experiences encompass extending advisory and consultancy assistance to financial institutions and MSMEs across Sub-Saharan Africa. Currently serving as a Senior Agri-business Finance Consultant at Agri Frontier, she brings a wealth of experience garnered from roles in management consulting and banking sectors. Previously, she has been able to deliver on critical projects in sub-Saharan Africa while solving complex problems and designing impactful solutions for various clients, including MSMEs, investors, financial institutions, donors, and development partners. Some of the projects she has participated in include conducting financial and non-financial due diligence; transaction advisory; business development support; strategy development; product design and development; market research and assessment in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Rwanda, and Ghana. Prior to joining Agri Frontier she was a Manager and Deputy Practice Group Lead at MicroSave Consulting (Anglophone Africa). She holds an MSc in Development Finance from the University of Manchester (Distinction), an MBA in Strategic Management from the United States International University, Africa (USIU-A), and a BSc in International Business Administration (Finance), graduating magna cum laude from USIU-A. Charlotte also holds a certification as a Certified Expert in SME Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Currently, she is pursuing a certification in ESG and Impact Investing from the same institution.

Danny Mitchel

Danny Mitchel is an experienced Impact Investment professional with a proven track record in Agriculture Finance across Sub-Saharan Africa and Management Consulting. He has been an integral part of a European debt fund, specializing in the agricultural sector. In this role as a Senior Investment Analyst, he supported the fund through the full investment cycle (origination, screening, due diligence, IC proposal write-ups and portfolio monitoring). Furthermore, he's been involved in a strategic sourcing project for a major agro processor in Eastern and Central Africa, where his mandate was to support the executive management in developing a lean procurement strategy, structure and incorporate smallholder farmers in the value chain. Prior to joining Agri Frontier, Mitchel worked for Samawati Capital Partners as a Senior Investment Analyst, supporting the company in executing its Fund Management mandate and further working on a few investor readiness projects under the USAID- Strategic Investing Activity. He has a Bachelor's degree in commerce, specialised in Finance from the University of Nairobi.

David Tyrrell

David has worked in the African agribusiness and finance industry for over 27 years, he has been based in Nairobi since 1996, initially as the Managing Director for Rhone Poulenc/ Aventis (French and French/ German multinationals now part of Bayer) managing the Crop Protection and Animal health businesses, and from 2002, as a consultant working mainly on Development Agriculture. Patrick has been instrumental in the design and implementation of a number of agricultural public private partnerships in emerging markets and is well recognized as an expert in this field.
