ANEMA - Artistic Network for the Empowerment of Marginalised People...
The evening ends with a performance of "Helvers Nacht" (Helver's Night) from Ingmar Villqist by the Viennese theatre company teatro caprile. The play about a mentally disabled man against the background of a totalitarian, fascist regime, not only makes for lively discussions, but also evokes intense emotions among the participants and audience. After the performances, all the participants are embracing. Two young women with Down syndrome have tears in their eyes and are asking when they will see each other again. It is obvious that not only encounters took place, but that real friendships were also formed. A participant from Baja, who would like to become a musical performer in Vienna comments, "I wish time could stand still. What happened here should never end." The workshop at the Deutsche Bühne Ungarn was not just about theatre. It showed and exemplified exactly how we can build a better society.
