Everett is a state and local tax professional with over 20 years of experience in various areas of state and local tax including multi-state sales and use taxes, gross receipts and compensating taxes, income taxes, unclaimed property, and locally and centrally assessed property taxes. His tax experience includes extensive knowledge of various state tax laws, numerous audit defense engagements, refund analyses, and client representation for audits and state and local tax issues. Everett is a recognized expert in New Mexico on the state's various tax laws, state credits and Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP). He has represented numerous clients in various industries with tax audits, tax issues and has obtained numerous credits and JTIP funding for clients. Everett is often engaged to provide advice, representation and guidance on state tax, credit and incentive issues. Everett has presented to various industry groups regarding state and local tax issues. Prior to becoming a Partner at Axiom CPAs, Everett worked at a large regional firm as a State and Local Tax Senior Manager for 5 years. Prior to that, he worked for the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department for 9 years in numerous positions including audit supervisor and field/computer auditor. Before working with the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department, he worked for a Fortune 500 Company for several years. Everett received his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of New Mexico and his Master's degree in Management Information Systems. Everett also serves as Treasurer for the Regional Development Corporation.
