Amanda L. Sisley

Amanda was raised in Mystic and attended Stonington schools under her maiden name, Amanda Plasse. Amanda graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut in 2001 and received her Juris Doctorate from Villanova University School of Law in 2005. While in law school, Amanda actively participated in the Clinic for Asylum, Refugee and Emigrant Services (CARES clinic) as a student and then a research assistant. She assisted refugees who have fled human rights abuses, in their home countries, and those seeking religious or political asylum in the United States. Amanda also worked as a Judicial Extern for the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Upon graduation, Amanda served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Jane B. Cantor, J.S.C. in Middlesex County, New Jersey. Thereafter she practiced in Newark, New Jersey with the law firm Greenberg, Dauber, Epstein and Tucker, P.C. where she represented various businesses and individual clients in commercial matters, including labor and employment disputes, construction disputes, contract negotiations and disputes, landlord-tenant actions, intellectual property disputes, contested wills and white-collar criminal investigations. Amanda's current practice includes commercial litigation, zoning and municipal appeals, labor and employment disputes, construction disputes, contract negotiations and disputes, foreclosures, landlord-tenant disputes, collection actions, probate litigation and commercial and residential real estate. Amanda is a member of the New London County Bar Association and currently serves on the governing board of Safe Futures, Inc. She is admitted to practice law before the District Courts of Connecticut and the state courts of Connecticut and New York. Amanda, her husband and daughter reside in Mystic.

Eric M. Janney

Eric Janney is a principal in the Mystic office of Block, Janney & Sisley, LLC. He was raised in Mystic and is a product of the Groton Public Schools. Eric is a graduate of the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and the University of Connecticut School of Law. His law practice focuses on small business representation, commercial and residential real estate, the creation of Common Interest Communities, and estate planning and probate administration. Eric recently completed two terms as Chairman of the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and he also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of HOPE, Inc., a local non-profit affordable housing entity and is a member of the President's Council for the Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration. Eric is also Secretary of the Groton Parks Foundation, President of the Fitch Senior High Alumni Foundation and he is a Governor appointee to the Connecticut Commission on Community Service of which he is the current Vice-Chairman. Eric also serves as a Corporator of the Lawrence & Memorial Hospital and Chelsea Groton Savings Bank. Eric is a resident of Stonington.

Mark E. Block

Mark E. Block is a partner of the firm, and his practice primarily focuses on real estate lending-transactions, business and commercial law, and bankruptcy and construction law. He has been a practicing attorney for over 35 years and was a partner in the former firm of O' Brien, Shafner, Stuart, Kelly & Morris, P.C., for 22 years. Mr. Block was admitted to practice before the State of Connecticut bar in 1973. He is also admitted to practice before the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and the U.S. Supreme Court. He earned his Doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1973 and also a Bachelor of Arts degree from Ithaca College in 1970. Attorney Block is a member and former president of the New London County Bar Association, and is also a member oft he American Bar Association and Connecticut Bar Association. He serves on the Institutional Review Board of the William W. Backus Hospital of Norwich. He is a board member and counsel to the Norwich Community Development Corporation. Mr. Block is a former board member of Three Rivers Community College Foundation, and currently serves on the board of directors for St. Thomas More School Foundation. He is also a corporator for Chelsea Groton Savings Bank. Having successfully raised two children, Mr.Block resides in Norwich with his wife.
