Frederick K. Brewington

Frederick K. Brewington is admitted to the Bars of the states of New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States Supreme Court, United States First and Second Circuit Courts of Appeal, United States District Courts of New Jersey, Eastern, Southern and Northern Districts of New York. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Albany in 1979 (with honors) and a Juris Doctor Degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 1982. He is a prominent member of the New York State and State of New Jersey Bar Associations, National Employment Lawyers Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Nassau County Bar Association as well as other various local and regional Bar associations. Raised in Lakeview, Long Island, Mr. Brewington has become a respected lawyer and community advocate with a distinguished legal career. After working at a number of prestigious firms and as a clerk at the Office of the Legal Counsel of the United States Senate, Mr. Brewington began a private practice on Long Island. With his expertise in civil rights litigation, he has successfully challenged the 'at large' voting system in the Town of Hempstead and worked on preventing future unconstitutional and discriminatory purging of voters from the voting role. Mr. Brewington challenges other discriminatory practices throughout Long Island as well. With his sustained focus on issues such as affordable housing, community revitalization efforts, employment and civil rights, the environment and, especially, voting rights and fair representation in government, Mr. Brewington has labored against injustices through litigating, writing, lecturing, and through building relationships of encouragement among citizen organizations. As a result of his hard work and dedication, Long Island Press has named him one of the top 50 most powerful people in Long Island a total of three times. Mr. Brewington is also an adjunct Professor at Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Touro College, served as President of the Alumni Association of SUNY, Albany and remains a member of their Council of Classes. Providing services pro bono, Mr. Brewington has been an advisor to many community groups and organizations. He has also served as a Trustee and as Chairman of the Administrative Board of the Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist; is a Certified Lay Servant for the Long Island East District of the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and currently is an instructor for Local Lay Servants.

Oscar Holt III

Commonly referred to as "Professor," Mr. Holt is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Law at St. John's University, Jamaica, New York. He is a very experienced trial lawyer, having tried cases in many courts at many levels. His area of specialty most recently has been criminal defense, but he is expanding his work to match the other aspects of what the firm does. He has earned three degrees from St. John's University: a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics/Education, a Master's in Counselor Education and a Juris Doctorate. He is a co-coach of the nationally recognized St. John's University Intercollegiate Mock Trial Team. He is a member of the Judiciary Committee of the Nassau County Bar Association; a past member of the Magistrate Judge Selection Committee of the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York; and former member of the New York City Mayor's Committee on the Judiciary, and the Committee on the Judiciary of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. His joining our office is enhancing the work of the firm in many ways.

Precilla Lockett

Precilla Lockett, J.D. was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree from the St. John's University and a Juris Doctor Degree from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center, Touro Law School. A dedicated advocate and humanitarian, Ms. Lockett helps to foster the unique personal relationship which exists between the Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington and the many clients it serves. While not barred, Ms. Lockett has used her law degree to successfully combine her keen administrative skills and her passion for the law to earn the position of Legal Administrator. Her ability to manage the ongoing client contacts and daily law office management issues has helped to make the Law Offices of Frederick K. Brewington an efficient and caring place for its clients. While in law school Ms. Lockett was the recipient of numerous honors including the Michael Aaron Silver Award for promoting tolerance and harmony among diverse elements of the Law Center and its community, the Special Service Award, and the accolade for Exemplary Contributions to the Quality of Student Life. She has also been recognized by many community groups and organizations including Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Queens New York, Empire State Chapter. Ms. Lockett is a prominent member of the Golden Key National Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa Society, Nu Epsilon Delta-Gamma Chapter, as well as St. Vincent College Honor Society. She is a former Board member of the New York Communities for Change, Inc. and is active in her Church, as well as singing with the Gospel choir, The Shepherd's Singers.
