Dr. Alyssa Banda has been a dedicated member of the Diagnostic Eye Center team, maintaining her commitment before, during, and after completing her doctoral training. As a therapeutic optometrist, she offers comprehensive eye exams, soft contact lens fittings, and treatment of ocular disease, including glaucoma and macular degeneration. Dr. Banda also specializes in the treatment of dry eye disease. Drawing personal experience as a severe dry eye sufferer herself, she is passionate about helping those who struggle with similar symptoms find relief and improve their quality of life. Dr. Andrew Salem

Dr. Andrew Salem is a nationally-recognized LASIK eye surgeon who specializes in refractive cataract surgery and laser vision correction at Diagnostic Eye Center in Houston, TX. He has performed tens of thousands of vision correction surgeries, participated in several clinical trials and published over a dozen articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science, Cornea, and Archives of Ophthalmology. He has presented at national conferences and received numerous awards for his research presentations, in addition to being featured as a Top Doctor by H Texas Magazine and TXTopDocs. Known as a "Doctor's Doctor," many local physicians and surgeons have entrusted Dr. Salem to perform their eye surgery, in addition to local celebrities, politicians, and pro athletes. Dr. Aric Welton

Dr. Aric Welton has been a member of the Diagnostic Eye Center team in Houston, TX for more than two decades. He provides expert care for patients with glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other ocular diseases. A principal investigator for Bausch & Lomb, Dr. Welton specializes in custom rigid gas permeable (RGP) lenses for patients with keratoconus or other corneal disease. "Dr. Welton is the greatest! He's so thorough and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. He also seems genuinely interested in what you have to say or ask. His assistants are also terrific and very kind and understanding. I always have a positive experience at his office." Dr. Welton earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Texas A&M University and his doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry. With more than seven years of experience working at Baylor College of Medicine Ophthalmology Department in the Lions Eye Bank, Dr. Welton gained extensive experience in corneal tissue recovery and transplantation. He also worked with the Austin Lions Eye Bank in tissue recovery procedures for corneal transplantation. Dr. Welton completed externship training in glaucoma and ocular health at the University of Texas at Houston. He also trained in San Antonio at Brooke Army Medical Center at Fort Sam Houston. Dr. Welton has actively contributed to the field of optometry by serving as a clinical instructor for optometry students at the University of Houston College of Optometry for many years. He has provided mentorship and guidance to aspiring optometrists, helping shape the future of the profession. Beyond professional pursuits, Dr. Welton is an avid SCUBA diver with 15 years of experience. He has cultivated expertise in underwater photography and eyewear, combining his passion for diving with his knowledge of optometry. Dr. Welton's commitment to exploring the underwater world parallels his commitment to delivering exceptional eye care.

He has instilled this culture of excellence into his associates and his staff. Dr. Stephanie Lozano

Dr. Stephanie Lozano is an experienced therapeutic optometrist in Houston, TX who works closely with our surgeons in the co-management of refractive surgery, including LASIK, PRK, and EVO ICL™ Lens, as well as premium cataract surgery with advanced intraocular lenses. She performs comprehensive eye exams and soft contact lens evaluations, including monovision, multifocal, and astigmatism contact lenses. Dr. Lozano also treats patients with dry eye disease, minor eye infections, ocular allergies, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.
