Luis Boscán is an economist by training and has more than 15 years of work experience in different knowledge-intensive roles, where energy issues have played a central role. Before joining Ea, he was affiliated with the Danish Utility Regulator (DUR), where he worked as economist in charge of developing a data-driven approach to market surveillance with focus on both structural and micro-structural aspects of the Danish wholesale energy markets (electricity and gas). In addition, he has been project leader for DUR's Anthology Project "Energy Regulation in the Green Transition" and has also managed several decision cases on electricity market design, in cooperation with other National Regulatory Authorities. Prior to DUR, Luis worked as researcher and instructor in the field of Energy Economics and Policy at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). In the earlier part of his career, Luis worked for six years as Economist and Senior Economist at Venezuela's Central Bank (BCV). There, he was in charge of overseeing international economy issues, including foreign exchange and reserve policy and international trade. In this capacity, Luis was a member of BCV's expert team on global Oil & Gas issues, reporting directly to BCV's board. Luis is a Chevening Scholar (2010) and AFS Alumnus (Japan, 1996).
