Eric Roush

Dr. Roush joined the Eye Care & Eye Wear Center of Maine in August 2005. He is a third-generation optometrist, following in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and uncle. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology in 1998 from Indiana University and his Optometry degree in 2002 from the Indiana University School of Optometry. Dr. Roush specializes in the management of dry eye disease, diabetic eye care, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. He is an experienced prescriber of all types of contact lenses including complex contact lens fitting for astigmatism, near vision problems (bifocal contacts), and dry eyes. Dr. Roush has a unique interest and expertise in "myopia control" techniques to significantly slow the rate of nearsighted progression in children and young adults. These techniques reduce a person's eventual nearsighted prescription by up to seventy percent. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Maine Optometric Association. He is licensed by the Maine Board of Optometry for Therapeutic Advanced Glaucoma Authority, which is the highest level of licensure offered by the state. He lives in Portland with his wife and two children.

Jennifer Haverkamp

Dr. Haverkamp is a Kansas native and received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Wichita State University in 2004. She then earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in 2008. Dr. Haverkamp joined Eye Care & Eye Wear Center of Maine in 2011 after practicing in Bangor for three years upon graduation with a large medical practice. Dr. Haverkamp provides comprehensive care for dry eye disease, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, and myopia control. She prescribes contact lenses for all types of prescriptions, including astigmatism and multifocal options. Dr. Haverkamp is an active member of the American Optometric Association. She is currently the president of the Maine Optometric Association, having served as a trustee on the board since 2015. She lives in Freeport with her husband and son.
