George - When our dad arrived in Canada from Germany in 1953, he started building residential homes, then went onto commercial highrise buildings. Our dad's favorite building he worked on was the Harbour Castle in Toronto... During the winter months and on weekends, our dad opened a construction company doing basement renovation, kitchens, small additions which lead into building houses, and installing windows and doors for one of our past suppliers - Repla Windows and Doors (Repla) from Oakville... As the client base in the east end grew, future clients did not want to drive to Oakville to see the product. Repla suggested that George open a showroom in Scarborough with their product line.
