Dr. Carmen Pustejovsky

Dr. Carmen Pustejovsky is a native of the Dallas-Fort Worth area and completed her undergraduate coursework in deaf education at Texas Christian University. She then taught in the Birdville Independent School District for three years before returning to graduate school. She completed her doctorate in audiology at the University of Texas at Dallas. In her free time, she is a member of the T-Force National Clogging Competition team and enjoys spending time with her niece and nephew. She is certified by the American Board of Audiology and is licensed by the state of Texas to practice audiology.

Dr. Tara Wheeler

Dr. Tara Wheeler graduated with her Bachelor of Science in speech and hearing science from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Her doctorate in audiology was obtained at the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Wheeler did her externship at Cook Children's Medical Center, specializing in pediatric audiology. After graduating, Dr. Wheeler worked at the University of North Texas as adjunct faculty in the Speech & Hearing Center with a focus on educational audiology. She joined the clinical adjunct faculty of the University of Texas at Dallas for the 2010-2011 academic year as a clinical supervisor for audiology doctoral candidates. She is certified by the American Board of Audiology and is licensed by the state of Texas to practice audiology.

Laurie Wischmeyer

Laurie Wischmeyer obtained her undergraduate degree in deaf education from TCU and a master of arts degree in advanced study in deafness from Gallaudet University. She is certified as a Teacher of the Deaf in the state of Texas and has recently completed requirements as an occupational hearing conservationist. For over 20 years, Laurie has supported deaf/hard of hearing, deaf/blind, and auditorily different children in partnership with their families from infancy through post high school. She truly enjoys the process of helping people discover their communication goals as they learn to navigate and take ownership of their life with a hearing difference. Professional experience includes Plano Regional Day School for the Deaf, Maryland School for the Deaf, Early Childhood Education (ECI), Keller ISD, Carroll ISD, and Birdville Regional Day School for the Deaf. Additionally, Laurie has teamed with a variety of therapists, ENT's and audiologists in the Tarrant County area to provide a collaborative experience to the individuals she serves. Laurie and her husband have two daughters who have turned into delightful adults. She enjoys curating spaces to spend time with friends and family around a table of good food and great card games.

Stephanie Martin

Stephanie Martin graduated with her Bachelor of Science in habilitation of the deaf from Texas Christian University. She then taught at the Birdville Regional Day School for the Deaf before consulting and advocating for mainstreamed students with hearing impairments in the Hurst Euless Bedford Independent School District. During that time, she also served families of children who are deaf and hard of hearing birth to three years as a certified Parent-Infant Educator. She is licensed by the state of Texas to practice fitting and dispensing hearing instruments. In her free time, she enjoys her busy household with four sons and traveling with friends and family.
