Ali Momeni is into dynamic systems and moving targets; he works with kinetics, electronics, software, sound, light, people, plants and animals. His creative output ranges from sculptures and installations, to urban interventions and music theater performance.
Momeni was born in Isfahan, Iran and emigrated to the United States at the age of twelve. He completed his doctoral degree in music composition, improvisation and performance with computers from the Center for New Music and Audio Technologies in UC Berkeley. He spent three years in Paris where he collaborated with performers and researchers from La Kitchen, IRCAM, Sony CSL andCIRM. Between 2007 and 2011, Momeni was an assistant professor in the Department of Art at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, where he directed the Spark Festival of Electronic Music and Art, and founded the urban projection collective called the MAW. Momeni currently teaches in the School of Art at Carnegie Mellon University and oversees CMU ArtFab.

Angelo Vermeulen will talk about his art projects that utilize ecology and game culture. Angelo is fascinated with exploring dynamic systems in the process of art making, and will focus on his conceptual and aesthetical approaches for including both science and science fiction in his work. He will also present his latest collaborative art project Biomodd [ATH1]; a living game computer that was created during an artist residency at the Aesthetic Technologies Lab in Athens, Ohio.

Casey Reas is a visual artist and a designer. He studied at the Aesthetics and Computation Group, MIT Media Lab (directed by John Maeda) and is currently associate professor at the Interaction Design Institute Ivrea (Italy). His pedagogical approach is particularly adapted to artists who want to grasp the essence of computer programming within the context of the electronic arts. Casey developed a specific easy to use programming language and environment for supporting his teaching : Proce55ing.
Prior to joining Interaction Ivrea, Casey Reas was a research assistant at the M.I.T. Media
Lab's Aesthetics and Computation Group where his work concentrated on interface design and computational kinetic sculpture. Casey has lectured and exhibited in Europe, Asia, and the United States. His work has recently been shown at the American Museum of the Moving Image, Ars Electronica, Interaction01, Museum of Modern Art, P.S.1, and Siggraph. Before joining M.I.T., he worked as Design Director at leading web design companies in New York,including Rare Medium, I/O 360 Digital Design, Two Twelve Associates and Design/Writing/Research.
Felix Luque is an artist whose work explores the relationship of humans and technology. The work reflects on current issues such as the development of artificial intelligence and automatism. He has been teaching New media Art related subjects since 2002 and is an artist / professor at "Le Fresnoy-Studio national des arts contemporains", the most important new media art school in France. The work of Felix Luque has been exhibited internationally in 13 different countries, of which 3 solo shows at iMAL. He won and received honorary mentions in international New Media Art Awards like Ars Electronica, Transmediale, VIDA, New Technological Art Award The Liedts-Meesen Foundation, JMAF Japan Media Arts Festival. iMAL has been an important supporter and producer for his work since 2009.

Ischa Tallieu is founder and director of Tallieu Art Office (2014). The Tallieu Art Office works in the fields of visual, installation and new media art, contemporary classical music, sound art, music and performing arts with a special interest in transdisciplinary projects and a focus on selection, promotion, exhibitions, networking, communication, consultancy, expertise, and representation. She works - among others - with Kris Verdonck, Lawrence Malstaf, Laura Colmares Guerra, Aernoudt Jacob and Annelies van Parys.

Marc Jacobs is a musician, producer, curator and programmer in a field that moves between film, audiovisual performance and contemporary and electronic music. He has put together programs for Europalia, Listen Festival, Bozar, Nuit Blanche, Kunstenfestivaldesarts, Festival Filmer a tout prix and the Brussels Film Festival, among others. In 2019, he founded Le Bureau Electronique, an independent artistic agency in new experimental music that is not yet widespread.

Mylène Lauzon lives and works in Brussels and has been director of La Bellone since 2015. She made this house a main hub and support for artists, with a strong research and development oriented mission. Mylène Lauzon has been following iMAL since 2010 and has a strong interest in digital culture, particularly where it plays a role in the increasingly multidisciplinary practices that artists develop today and make the Brussels art scene so special. iMAL and La Bellone find each other not only as good neighbors but also in their conviction that artistic knowledge is also social knowledge, precious and necessary.
Tom Heene is an audiovisual artist and filmmaker, active in all variations of audiovisual media. He has worked with visual artists, choreographers, scientists and code artists on interactive environments and multidisciplinary projects. Tom Heene has collaborated with iMAL on different levels in the past 20 years - both as a producing artist, whose pieces have been co-produced and distributed by iMAL (Salt Lake, Dark Matter) and a production manager on several of their exhibitions.
