Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (HPBA) is an international trade association established to represent and promote the interests of the hearth, patio, and barbecue products industry in North America. The Association includes manufacturers, retailers, distributors, manufacturers' representatives, service and installation firms, and other companies and individuals - all having business interests in and related to the hearth, patio, and barbecue products industry. In 1980, the Fireplace Institute (FI) and the Wood Energy Institute (WEI) united to form the Wood Heating Alliance. The name was then changed in 1983 to the Hearth Products Association (HPA), a non-profit organization, in order to better reflect the diversity and range of products and services within the industry. In 2001, Hearth Products Association (HPA) merged with Barbecue Industry Association (BIA) to form Hearth, Patio & Barbecue Association (HPBA). HPBA has eleven affiliates dedicated to serving industry members..
