As president of Knightly Environmental Incorporated (KEI), Ms. Knightly has managed the firm since its inception in 1992. Ms. Knightly started the company in response to a need for highly qualified professionals and a responsive environmental firm in the Kansas City market. Providing quality results on time and within budget is a top priority for Ms. Knightly and KEI. Instilling these values in all KEI projects has led to the continued success of the firm over the years.
As a woman-owned small business focused on personal and responsive service, KEI began by first providing temporary, professional assistance to other startup and established environmental and engineering firms. Primary work was in the petroleum marketing arena early on. Eventually, Ms. Knightly lead the transformation of KEI to a stand-alone, petroleum marketing centered firm securing contracts with many marketers in need of comprehensive environmental assistance. During this time frame, KEI held contracts with larger, multiple location marketers handling many needs from Phase I environmental site assessments at new store locations to cleanup of spills to underground storage tank removal supervision, and all associated communication with regulators and insurance players.
Ms. Knightly created the industrial waste stream consulting area of the business in 2006. Due in large part to Ms. Knightly's expertise, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) currently certifies KEI to conduct field analysis of pH on samples collected from waste streams, one of only a few such firms to have this certification in the Kansas City region.
Being a Certified Public Accountant, Ms. Knightly handles all daily business manager duties for the firm including bookkeeping, invoicing, insurance communication, etc.
