Amy Geary

Amy is our Medicare Specialist. She helps clients understand the critical role Medicare plays in healthcare and finances during retirement. She supports customers during annual enrollment, open enrollment, and year-round providing Medicare consultation. Keystone Benefits Group, Inc. offers both Medicare Advantage and Medigap Plans to clients. We partner with insurance carriers such as Aetna, Highmark, and UPMC to provide our customers Medicare insurance that is right for them. Amy has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a Licensed Producer in Accident and Health, Life and Fixed Annuities. Amy has over twenty-five years of healthcare experience as a Licensed, Registered Dietitian. Amy resides in Latrobe with her husband and children.

Angel Hixenbaugh

Job Titles:
  • Benefits Administrator
As a Benefits Administrator, Angel works with Flexible Spending Account (FSAs) and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs) administration. Additionally, she assists with the medical renewal process for our clients by explaining health insurance policy provisions, providing clients with rates and plan designs from multiple carriers, comparing the benefits and costs of available options and reviewing these options with the client to reach a renewal decision. Angel works with new clients as well by managing the new group installation process. She works with the client to maintain detailed records of any policy/enrollment changes made throughout the year.

Jennifer Ritz

Jennifer is responsible for assisting Kris Geary with overall business operations and investment research, as well as assisting Kris and Tim in preparing reports and analysis for our investment clients. She also helps with the marketing and public relations for Keystone. Jennifer has a B.S. in Financial Management and an MBA from Western Kentucky University. She is a licensed producer in Accident and Health, Life and Fixed Annuities, as well as a licensed investment assistant, with a Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Examination) licenses. She worked in banking for more than 9 years and marketing management for over 10 years. She was also an adjunct professor at St. Vincent College in the McKenna Business School. She resides in Greensburg with her husband and children.

Karen Caldwell

Job Titles:
  • Benefits Manager
Karen has a wide range of experience in benefit plans since 1987. She has worked for a communications law firm, the American Society of Anesthesiologists and T. Rowe Price Associates. She currently is responsible for the application and installation process for new clients in our group medical business. For existing clients, she manages the annual renewal process. Karen also manages the proposal process, data analysis and installation of our self-insured groups. Addtionally, she administers Flexible Spending Account (FSAs) and Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs). Karen lives in Ligonier with her husband Tim and three children, Kate, John and Rachel. She has a Bachelor's Degree from Bethany College.

Kris Geary - President

Kris is a graduate of Saint Vincent College. He is a 20+ year Member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA) and has achieved the designation of Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA). Kris resides in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Kris Geary, founder of Keystone Benefits Group, Inc., has more than 25 years of employee benefit plan experience. As President, Kris' responsibilities include consulting on retirement and employee benefit design issues, Employer/Employee communications and technical consulting. In addition, he has spent a significant amount of time helping clients, as well as CPAs and HR professionals, understand the implications of the Affordable Care Act. Kris has been Insurance licensed and Securities registered since 1991 and is a Registered Representative and an Investment Adviser Representative through Kestra Investment Services, LLC and Kestra Advisory Services, LLC. Kris has significant experience in the following areas:

Laura McElhinny

Job Titles:
  • Plan Administrator
Laura has over 30 years experience working with employee benefit and retirement plans, personal life, health insurance and investments. Currently, her main duty is as a plan administrator with the qualified retirement plans. This includes participant recordkeeping, contribution and distribution processing, IRS compliance testing, client annual reports and government filings. She is involved in the installation process and helps with the work flow during the early stages of plan implementation and transfers. Laura also handles the bookkeeping functions for Keystone Benefits Group to include tracking commissions, individual agent and corporate licensing as well as maintaining compliance procedures for the Registered Representatives. Laura resides in New Alexandra with her husband and has two children.

Miranda Chalfant

Job Titles:
  • Sales Assistant for Kris Geary
Miranda is a Sales Assistant for Kris Geary and Timothy Caldwell. She works on implementing client plans for the transfer of assets and distributions of funds in addition to client benefit reports for retirement plans. She is very involved in the installation process and helps with the work flow during the early stages of plan implementation as well as assisting the retirement plan staff with distributions and 401(k) deposit processing. Miranda is responsible for new investment account processing and account maintenance, as well as distributions, rollovers and transfers. Miranda has over 10 years of experience in the financial field. She lives in Mount Pleasant with her husband and pets.

Tim Caldwell - VP

Tim is involved with all aspects of Keystone Benefits Group, Inc.'s employee benefit plans. He works closely with our clients in providing investment education to our plan's participants, providing annual fiduciary reviews with the plans' sponsors, and consulting on plan design issues. With 22 years of experience in benefit plan design and administration, he has a broad range of experience dealing with employers of all sizes, from 1 or 2 employees up to 50,000 employees. Tim has also been involved with Keystone's Continuing Education Seminars with local CPAs providing timely and topical information on issues effecting employee benefit plans. Tim is a graduate of Bucknell University and has an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a Registered Representative and an Investment Advisor Representative with Kestra Investment Services, LLC and Kestra Advisory Services, LLC and also a member of the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA). He resides in Ligonier with his wife, Karen, and their three children Kate, Rachel and John.
