Christopher is a Senior Associate in Le Gallais & Luce's Litigation department. He undertakes all of the litigation work for the firm, including some family law.
He was called to the Bar of England and Wales as a Barrister (non-practicing) in 1996, sworn in as a Jersey Advocate in 2014 and joined Le Gallais & Luce in November 2018.
After 13 years at Bedell Cristin and a further seven years as Head of Litigation at a newly established Jersey law firm, Christopher joined Le Gallais & Luce in 2018.
His contentious law experience includes civil disputes including property law, personal injury, wills and estates, business disputes and trust related issues. Christopher also has a criminal law practice, regularly appearing for clients in both the Magistrates Court and Royal Court.
He is the appointed Clerk to the Commissioners of Appeal of Income Tax, and the legal representative on the Jersey Chamber of Commerce Employment and Skills Committee.
Chris is a member of the panel of approved legal representatives under the Law Society of Jersey's Mental Health Accreditation Scheme, qualifying him to represent clients who have brought applications before the Jersey Mental Health Review Tribunal under the provisions of the Mental Health (Jersey) Law 2016 and the Capacity and Self-Determination (Jersey) Law 2016.

Emma is a senior associate in the Family and Litigation Department.
Emma who grew up in Jersey has over 20 years' experience as a lawyer. She qualified as an undergraduate from Kingston University before following that up with a Masters Law Degree at the University of Nottingham specialising in Human Rights Law. Having practised as an English Solicitor in York, specialising in private law child proceedings, divorce and harassment injunctions, Emma returned to Jersey during 2006 and joined the Law Officers' Department.
Qualifying as a Jersey Advocate in 2008, Emma was subsequently appointed to represent the Minister for Health and Social Services, and In 2010 she was appointed as a Crown Advocate representing the Attorney General in high profile criminal prosecutions before the Royal Court.
During 2021 Emma moved into private practice, specialising in all aspects of family law. She is accredited on both the Children's panel and the Criminal panel and has successfully appeared before the Court of Appeal on private law matters relating to children, advised the Royal Court as Amicus and the Guardian Service.
Emma was reappointed as a Crown Advocate on 1 March, 2024 to assist the Attorney General in prosecuting cases in the Royal Court.

Julie is legal secretary to Advocate Matthew Godden, Advocate Christopher Austin and Peter Blandin in the Litigation and Family departments.
She joined Le Gallais & Luce in 2009 and assists in the debt recovery of particular clients. Julie was appointed and sworn in at the Royal Court as Assistant to the Clerk of Commissioners of Tax in 2018 after holding this position since July 2009. Her primary role is to ensure the smooth running of our clients' matters. From initial enquiry, take on and client due diligence, to ongoing correspondence, paperwork and meeting arrangements, Julie facilitates our clients' journey with Le Gallais & Luce.

Marianne is Managing Partner at Le Gallais & Luce and head of our Wills and Probate team.
Having qualified as an English Solicitor with Nigel Harris & Partners in 2007, Marianne joined Le Gallais & Luce in 2010 and qualified as a Jersey Solicitor in 2014. As head of one of Jersey's leading probate teams, she specialises in wills, probate, delegation and power of attorney matters.
Marianne was appointed a senior associate of Le Gallais & Luce in 2014, became a partner in 2016, then Managing Partner in 2018.
She is a member of Jersey Law Society and English Law Society.
Matthew is a partner at Le Gallais & Luce and is head of our Family Law and Litigation teams.
After qualifying as a collaborative family lawyer in 2008 and a Jersey Advocate in 2009, he joined Le Gallais & Luce in 2012, becoming a partner in 2014.
Matthew specialises in all areas of family law work, including complex public and private childrens' law matters, high-net-worth divorce matters and pre-nuptial agreements. He aims to offer straightforward and pragmatic advice on relationship-generated issues and always seeks to find a sensitive and family-focused solution and promote alternative dispute resolution solutions wherever possible.
He is a member of the Jersey Family Law Association Committee and the Family Mediation Jersey Committee, is accredited to the Children's Panel and frequently appears before the Royal Court.
Matthew's work also includes employment, where he represents both employers and employees on employment and discrimination law issues.

Nicki is a senior administrator in our Wills and Probate department.
Nicki joined Le Gallais & Luce in 2016 having worked in the wills and probate sector since 2005 and gained the CLT Specialist Paralegal qualification in Wills and Probate in 2015.
Nicki specialises in local and foreign domicile probate applications, estate administration and will drafting for both local and non local clients. Nicki has experience in elderly client matters, including the administration of delegations, managing the finances of vulnerable clients and drafting Lasting Powers of Attorney.
Paul is a partner at Le Gallais & Luce and heads up our Property and Conveyancing team.
Having qualified as a Jersey Solicitor in 2002, Paul joined Le Gallais & Luce in 2004. He became a partner of the firm in 2007. As one of Jersey's most experienced property lawyers, Paul has a wealth of experience in share transfer, flying freehold and freehold transactions.
Paul has been politically active in assisting first-time-buyers in the market and reforming the conveyancing process.
During his career Paul has held the position of President of Chambres des Ercivains for two years and is also qualified as a Notary Public.
