David O'Brart

David O'Brart is a consultant at St Thomas' Hospital, London . Following his qualification as an Ophthalmic Surgeon in 1990, he trained in corneal and small-incision cataract surgery. He spent two years at the United Medical and Dental Schools, University of London, receiving a Doctorate in Medicine for investigating the role of excimer laser refractive and corneal surgery. Upon completion of his ophthalmic surgical training at St. Thomas' Hospital, London and Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, he undertook a fellowship with Professor Weinreb at the Shiley Eye centre in San Diego, California, where he studied advanced techniques in glaucoma. Mr. O'Brart is the President Elect of the United Kingdom and Ireland Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He is a past secretary of the British Society of Refractive Surgeons and past-president and secretary of the Southern Ophthalmological Society. He has organised and chaired over thirty symposia on refractive and corneal surgery and glaucoma at national and international meetings. He has co-authored three books on corneal topography, refractive and corneal surgery and contributed numerous chapters to text books. He is a founding member of the microsurgical skills committee, an examiner and specialist advisor to the National Institute for Clinical Excellence and the Medical Health Research Authority for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He is on the editorial board of a number of journals. He continues to take an active interest in research in both the field of refractive and corneal surgery, intraocular lens technology and glaucoma with over ninety scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Sui H. Wong

Dr Sui H. Wong is a consultant neurologist and neuro-ophthalmologist. Her NHS practice is based at both Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, and Guys & St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. She is also an honorary consultant at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. In addition to her NHS practice, Dr Wong has a private practice based in central London. Dr Wong sees patients with neurological conditions, and has a specialist interest in neuro-ophthalmology. Areas of expertise: Neuro-ophthalmology, including ocular myasthenia gravis, optic neuritis and optic neuropathies, visual pathways disorders, papilloedema, idiopathic intracranial hypertension.

Luis Amaya

Luis Amaya is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at St. Thomas' Universiy Hospital, London. He is in charge of all the paediatric ophthalmic patients who are admitted to the Evelina Children's Hospital, a tertiary referral centre in London. He was trained in Columbia and has a professorship from Rosario University in Bogota. He underwent his subspecialty training in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. He worked for 10 years in South America at Charity University Children's Hospital as head of the department. He continues his teaching and training at St. Thomas' Hospital with regular commitments to medical students and trainee ophthalmologists. Professor Amaya is also an executive examination board member for the International Council of Ophthalmology. He is also involved in charitable work in Tanzania and has been invited to China with the Lifeline Express lecturing programme. Luis is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon at St. Thomas' Universiy Hospital, London. Miss Susie Morley

Having obtained a triple first from University of Cambridge in preclinical studies she completed her clinical medical school training at the University of Oxford. Her training in Ophthalmology was in London. Susana Morley has extensive training in eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery from several of the UK's best oculoplastic centers including Moorfield's Eye Hospital with and the specialist oculoplastic unit at East Grinstead

Mr Moin Mohamed

Moin undertook his training in Sheffield and Leeds with advanced specialty training in retinal disease at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He was the recipient of a prestigious Wellcome Trust Fellowship, leading to the award of a PhD for original research into the molecular and genetic basis of inherited eye disease, at the Leeds Institute of Molecular Medicine.

Mr Roger Shimizu Wong

Roger is an NHS consultant ophthalmic surgeon at St Thomas' Hospital (London) with outreach retinal specialist services at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey He obtained his first undergraduate degree in Neurobiology at the University of California, Berkeley and his medical degree from St. George's Hospital Medical School, University of London. His ophthalmic training in the London area included Moorfields Eye Hospital, Kings College Hospital, and St. Thomas' Hospital. His interests include minimally invasive suture-less vitreoretinal surgery for retinal detachment, macular diseases, diabetic eye disease, inflammatory eye diseases, complicated cataract surgery, ocular trauma. He is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences.. He has also been featured in an exclusive podcast from the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery on retinal folds following retinal detachment surgery (podcast). Mr. Wong continues to be active in clinical research having published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He is an honorary senior lecturer at Kings College, London and is Clinical Lead in undergraduate teaching and subspecialty ophthalmology training. Merging his passion for two-wheeled vehicles and healthcare, he has founded 'Vision rEYEders', a charitable organisation raising awareness for eye care in less fortunate areas of the world. He had the opportunity to joing the Lifeline Express team to lecture and consult in Xian, China. Roger received his undergraduate degree from the University of California Berkeley and his medical degree from the University of London St George's Hospital Medical School. He is a Senior Honorary Lecturer at Kings College London and was awarded Best Ophthalmology Teacher for Undergraduate Medicine.

Susana Morley has extensive training in eyelid, lacrimal and orbital surgery from several of the UK's best oculoplastic centers including Moorfield's Eye Hospital with and the specialist oculoplastic unit at East Grinstead with Mr. Raman Malhotra. In addition to her clinical training, Susana Morley spent several years doing research in the field of ultraviolet and infrared damage to the eye and was awarded a higher degree - an M.D. - from the University of London in respect of this work
