The Louisiana Finance Association (LFA) was founded in 1959, by a group of early credit pioneers who recognized the importance of unity within our industry. The purpose of the LFA is to promote the welfare and education of its members engaged in the personal loan business in the State of Louisiana... As an association we maintain a strong legislative committee, whose function is to keep up with all proposed legislation, supporting laws that are beneficial to our industry and opposing those that are not. We are extremely involved in the political process to ensure that the elected officials are aware of the importance of our industry... LFA continues to provide support and promote consumer educational programs, to emphasize the proper use of credit and to create a better public awareness of our industry. We continue to be the premier leader in knowledge and education not only for our members, but for the public as well.
