Emily leads our firm's litigation team, focusing on all aspects of divorce, custody and child support matters. Emily's favorite place to be is in the courtroom. She is a seasoned litigator who will tell you that there are few things better in life than a well-executed cross-examination. When she's not in court, Emily is one of the nicest lawyers you will ever meet. Within the firm she is known for her ability to approach every case with a calm focus that puts her clients at ease. She has earned the well-deserved reputation among her colleagues for her willingness to successfully take on some of the most difficult divorce and custody cases throughout the state. Without a doubt, Emily is the trial attorney you want seated on your side of the courtroom. When Emily is not at work, you will find her looking for her children's lost shoes (socks, backpacks, homework), driving to swim lessons, answering lots of questions, and reading bedtime stories. Heather is the firm's managing partner and divorce law guru. Heather knows all the ins and outs of divorce in Maryland and DC, and she knows exactly what to do to put her clients in a position to accomplish their goals. Prior to founding the firm, Heather taught at both Georgetown University and American University. Her advocacy and writing skills are unparalleled and she routinely leaves those of us in the office in awe of her abilities. Clients love Heather because she speaks common sense and negotiates consistently brilliant results while being completely delightful. She is warm, smart and a fierce advocate for her clients. Heather has seen divorce from both sides of the table. She understands what clients are going through and it is her mission to see them through to the other side. When Heather talks about her job she will tell you, "my clients deserve to be happy and it is my job to help them get there." In 2023, Heather was appointed by Governor Wes Moore to the Trial Court Judicial Nominating Commission for Howard County. There are 16 Commissions in Maryland which are charged with nominating judges of the Circuit Courts and the District Court of Maryland. Heather will serve in this prestigious position until 2027. When Heather is not at work, she can be found at book club (though not always having read the book) or wine club (though always trying the wine), volunteering on deck at a swim meet, or on the Peloton. Hilary R. Tebeleff is a Partner at McCabe Russell, PA. Hilary's practice focuses on the areas of family law and domestic violence. Jeffrey Evans, Esq. is an experienced family law and civil litigation attorney who has spent over twenty years representing clients in litigation matters, including representing clients in state courts, federal courts and arbitrations. Jeff's practice focuses exclusively on representing clients in family law matters including divorce, spousal and child support, child custody and visitation and the division of marital property. Jeff believes that the best approach to resolve family law cases is non-adversarial and that attempts should first be made to amicably resolve all divorce and custody cases. Jeff's goal is to ensure that clients are well-informed throughout the divorce process and that their goals are understood and prioritized. Unfortunately, not all cases can be settled and Jeff is always prepared to advocate for his clients in court when it is necessary. When not working, you can find Jeff running (slowly and for short distances), or playing or watching soccer.
