Dr. Annette Cantu

Dr. Cantu works collaboratively and compassionately with children, adolescents, families, and young adults. She approaches her work from a strengths-based, humanistic, culturally and identity-affirming stance, with a particular awareness of the complex systems and multiple roles and identities in one's life. She is particularly adept at balancing real-life application with current scientific findings. Dr. Cantu values transparency and uses her background as a teacher and educator to provide strong psychoeducational, evidence-based interventions, building on a relationship of trust and respect. Dr. Cantu holds a Doctoral degree in School Psychology from the University of Texas - Austin. She completed her internship at Oregon Health and Science University in pediatric psychology and her postdoctoral residency at the OHSU Harold Schnitzer Diabetes Center. She has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapies for youth and parent anxiety and related disorders, depression, trauma, as well as in interventions in health psychology (Habit Reversal Training, toileting, adjustment to chronic health conditions, diabetes), ADHD and child behavior concerns (Parent Management Training), and Grief Therapy. Dr. Cantu is also passionate in working with the LGBTQIA+ and gender nonconforming community and can provide letter writing and identity development support for transgender and gender nonconforming youth and their families.

Dr. Ebony Spriggs

Dr. Ebony Spriggs is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Oregon. They received their doctorate degree from Adler School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Ebony strives to create an open and collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients, which includes understanding clients in the fullness of who they are within their context. She will work with clients in a collaborative process to tailor treatment and provide an environment for healing and growth which feels safe, encouraging, and humourous. Dr. Ebony utilizes a mixture of humanistic, strength based, systemic and trauma informed approaches to help encourage and guide clients through the change process. To best meet the unique needs of clients they also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness based practices. Dr. Ebony work with adults and teens who want help navigating concerns related to anxiety disorders, including general and social anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, relational and boundary issues, and stress management and burnout. Additionally, they have a particular passion for working with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and gender nonconforming communities. She is able to provide assessments for those in the trans community seeking gender affirming surgery letters. Dr. Ebony also works with parents and children utilizing Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.

Dr. Meeke is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a founder and co-director of the Portland Anxiety Clinic, LLC. In addition to psychotherapy, Dr. Meeke provides psychological testing and assessment for diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations for a wide variety of presenting problems. She specializes in forensic psychology including forensic evaluations focused on competency issues as well as psychosexual and violence risk assessments.

Dr. Jill Davidson is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and is the owner and director of Portland Anxiety Clinic, LLC. An expert in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders. Her practice is focused on providing effective and long-lasting treatment using the latest Cognitive Behavioral Therapy interventions. Each course of therapy is tailored to the individual patient. She has an empathetic, collaborative style to create an environment of hope and possibility. Dr. Davidson works with children, adolescents, and adults. A unique component of her practice is her willingness to work in the community and make home visits when clinically appropriate. In addition to providing psychotherapy, Dr. Davidson provides comprehensive assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders, including ADHD and learning disability evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults. She has facilitated in-service trainings on OCD and related disorders at various counseling centers and conferences, provides training and supervision to graduate students in psychology, as well as to medical residents in psychiatry. She has multiple national and international publications and presentations on related topics. Dr. Davidson is a member of the American Psychological Association, International OCD Foundation, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and the Oregon Psychological Association. She sits on the boards of the Oregon Psychological Ethics Committee and is founding board member of the International OCD Foundation Oregon affiliate. Dr. Jill Waldman

Dr. Jill Waldman is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who specializes in working with children, teens, and young adults. In order to provide the most effective, personalized treatment for her patients, she uses a supportive and collaborative approach. Dr. Waldman earned her Master's Degree from Lewis and Clark College in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Child Psychology. She then went on to earn her Doctoral Degree from Pacific University in Clinical Psychology, with specialty training in Neuropsychology. Dr. Waldman completed her predoctoral residency training at New York University's RUSK Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in Pediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology. Although Dr. Waldman's training includes the lifespan, much of her clinical and research experience has focused on gaining a better understanding of the neurobiological underpinnings and psychological factors contributing to the complex developmental period known as adolescence. Having been part of interdisciplinary treatment teams within hospital settings, Dr. Waldman values coordination of care across disciplines. Therefore, when deemed clinically appropriate, she works closely with those involved in the patient's life (treatment providers, schools, community members) to provide the most comprehensive and integrative healthcare possible. While providing individual psychotherapy, Dr. Waldman often involves members of a patient's family system in order to better generalize treatment interventions outside of the therapeutic setting. Using Cognitive Behavioral, Family Systems, and Behavioral therapeutic interventions, Dr. Waldman provides evidenced-based therapy to treat a variety of disorders including anxiety spectrum disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, ADHD, adjustment disorders, problems related to low self-esteem, and academic and family stress. Dr. Lisa Schimmel is a Clinical Psychologist & Clinical Consultant. Currently provides clinical consultation/supervision to new and seasoned psychologists/psychiatrists and other mental health practitioners. Her intention is to create a safe, welcoming space in which to help clinicians deepen their work relationally, culturally, ethically, clinically and professionally. Dr. Schimmel offers individual as well as group consultation and uses a blended and integrated approach to psychotherapy and training. Her long-standing and ongoing work as a psychologist and consultant in private practice, her extensive teaching experience (individual, couple, family therapy, LGBTQ 2, cultural diversity, ethics, supervision), her previous time as director of graduate clinical training, coupled with her own long-term participation in a weekly consultation group and 5 years on the OPA Ethics Committee have worked to inform her consultation practice. Dr. Schimmel was originally trained in psychodynamic, cognitive, family, and developmental couple therapy. In her clinical practice, she works with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and sexual/gender identity (LGBTQ 2) related issues and with those seeking personal growth and relationship enhancement. As a staff psychologist and assistant professor in the Dept. of Psychiatry at OHSU she offers mindfulness and narrative medicine sessions to enhance wellness and trains and provides clinical supervision to psychiatry residents. Dr. Schimmel is a warm person, with a good sense of humor, and enjoys engaging thoughtfully and collaboratively with others. Dr. Niles Cook is a clinical psychologist at the Portland Anxiety Clinic, LLC. Dr. Niles Cook is a senior therapist at the Portland Anxiety Clinic as well as the Director of Training. He sees patients across the lifespan but specializes in working with adolescents. Dr. Cook went to Pacific University for this PsyD, in Hillsboro, OR, completed his internship in New Haven, CT, and completed his residency in San Jose, CA. He practices from an evidence-based approach but tailors his interventions to his specific patients, taking into account culture, diversity, and background. Dr. Cook is also a professor at Pacific University, as well as a clinical supervisor. Dr. Cook supervises clinicians with experience ranging from their first work with patients to the final stages of seeking licensure. Finally, Dr. Cook has worked as a consultant to various companies, organizations, and schools in Oregon, Washington and California. As an expert in both anxiety and adolescence, Dr. Cook is able to provide insight into adolescent development, mental health, impacts of Covid-19, and parenting, as well as many other areas related to adolescents and their communities. He is also capable of providing executive coaching and employee presentations. When he is not working, Dr. Cook loves spending time with his wife and three children hiking through forest park, playing board games, and playing pétanque.

Jodie is a Community-Based Skills Trainer at Portland Anxiety Clinic with a Bachelor's Degree from Oregon State University. Jodie has worked in residential treatment, partial-hospitalization, and intensive outpatient settings with children, adolescents, and adults. She has advanced, specialized training in providing evidence-based care for patients experiencing depression, behavioral concerns, as well as OCD and related anxiety disorders. Jodie is skilled at meeting patients where they are at and engaging them in their treatment plan goals. Jodie values the role of schools and parents in a child's treatment plan and associated goals. As such, Jodie regularly consults with her patients' primary therapist, parents, and school team, as needed.

Kate Sturges

As a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor with the State of Oregon, Kate offers a broad base of knowledge with over 8 years of experience spanning the spectrum of the mental health field. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety spectrum disorders along with OCD. Kate utilizes an integrative and evidenced based approach drawing from CBT, DBT, and Exposure and Response Prevention. She works with individual adults. Kate also specializes in working with LGBTQ identified individuals. Believing in our drive to connect through relationships, Kate works from a space of collaboration.
