I am the biggest fan of the team at PTSMC. After a year of putting off shoulder surgery I finally did it. I didn't think it would ever be as good as it was. Brianne Dwyer was my therapist.(She underplays this, but she has a PhD in Physical Therapy...I think other therapists there do also). Anyhow, on visit #1, Brianne had me doing a regimen of exercises that exactly addressed my incoming concerns WITHOUT causing undue pain.
It has been by far the most successful and at the same time most enjoyable Physical Therapy experience (of the 6/7) I have had to-date. The other staff member (Danielle) who took care of me was also fantastic.
Brianne Dwyer is my PT Trainer. Her understanding and directions to improve mobility are encouraging.
This place is, by far, the best PT office that I have ever worked with. ( and I've worked with a lot) It's easy to schedule appointments, lots of parking and the office staff are all great. The PT I work with is Shannon and he is amazing at what he does. It's really hard to find a therapist that actually cares and really focuses on getting you better. He was able to help me more in 2 visits than the other office that I had seen for months. I just left after my 3rd appointment and I am amazed at how much less pain I have in my neck and shoulder. I'm not one to write reviews that often but I felt the need to do so with this office and therapist. If you are in need of a physical therapist or have chronic pain and discomfort, I highly recommend this place.

I was so sad when my old PT sold his practice, but then I found Matt. He is an excellent PT, and is very attentive and helpful. After having knee surgery in April I moved to Connecticut for school and started at PTSMC Middletown with Mike in September. He and the rest of the staff did a great job getting me back to full health and cleared to play sports. They are very friendly and I would 100% recommend PTSMC Middletown to anyone looking for physical therapy.

At PTSMC in Putnam I worked with Kelly, who has been wonderful and truly helped get my hip pain under control! She went at a good pace to push me to strengthen my hip muscles to help prevent future hip injuries, and always reassessed the work plan when my pain flared up. 10/10 would see her again if I get injured again, but hopefully I won't. The rest of the staff at PTSMC in Putnam is also knowledgeable, kind, and professional!
Tom Harney and his team of colleagues have been providing physical therapy services to our family for 18 years. The front office is the hub for scheduling appointments for clients. I am impressed by Micaela's ability to assist almost everyone seeking services.

Emily Hanson is a GREAT and experienced therapist and I have seen improvement in just a few visits to her clinic. She is currently utilizing a dry needling modality which targets muscle trigger points. This technique gives me noticeable improvements from muscle aches and pains within hours.
The whole team at PTSMC is outstanding. Everyone is pleasant and works together to provide exceptional therapeutic care. In my opinion, PTSMC is the absolute best PT provider in Simsbury. I am so happy that I found them.
I was suffering from bppv from 4 weeks .Katherine PT, she did a fantastic job .she is very kind and ready to help . I had some long standing issues with my back and knees from work related injuries from 30 years ago. Apparently my self adjusting my gait did some additional damage to my back and knees that finally caught up with me. I will probably never be pain free, but since going to PTASMC and working with Michael A and Heather they have gotten me to a place where my discomfort is manageable and tolerable for me to carry on with my career as a stage performer. Michael and his team are truly the best in the business, not only for their PT SKILLS, but for their understanding and listening to their patients. I would recommend this practice for anyone who feels they may never get better…I am not discomfort free but I am st a place I have a quality of life. PTSMC middletown is the best physical therapy center I have used so far, and I have used a couple. Everyone is genuinely friendly. Staff are very approachable and listen to you and engage in a dialogue about your treatment. I completely without reservation recommend PTSMC Middletown.
8 months ago I found out I was selected to run the Chicago Marathon, 1 of the 6 majors in the world. I had never ran a marathon so I immediately started over training, injuring myself in the process. With back pain and bursitis in my hip my dr referred me to Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine of Bristol, where I met Matt Baronowski. For the next 8 month Matt worked on putting me back together and getting me Marathon ready. There were days where I had to push through uncomfortable pain, wanting to give up, giving Matt the side eye and yes crying. On October 13, 2024 I completed my first marathon and became a part of the 1% of the population. Matt, I can't thank you enough for all that you did for me, not only did you put me back together but your encouragement and fight helped me cross that finish line. If anyone needs a PT guy run, walk or crawl to see my guy Matt, he is simply the BEST!

Was a little worried when my favorite physical therapist moved out of Avon, afraid the drive would be too much to Bristol but boy was I wrong. The place is immaculate, Kat, the patient care coordinator, is kind and efficient and Matt, well, he's the reason I make the trip and he's absolutely the best there is in the business.
My experience at PTSMC was great. Rebecca was my therapist. She was knowledgeable, kind, patient and helped me achieve some much needed relief with my back pain. Thanks so much Rebecca. I appreciate the therapists and assistants sense of humor as it makes the exercises tolerable and enjoyable. All the therapists, assistants and front desk staff were wonderful. I will definitely be back if need be and I highly recommend PTSMC of Glastonbury.
I am retired and play pickleball. Two or three months ago I injured my back. I tried rest, stretching and nothing worked. At any point in time while playing my back would hurt and I couldn't continue. My opponents and partners were asking me if I was ok and hitting the ball softly to me. I finally went to my PCP who after an exam recommended PT. I went to the Groton facility because it was closest to my house. The facility is clean well organized and the staff pleasant. My therapist Miranda was wonderful. She listened to my description of my injury and all my previous injuries which had an impact an my ability to do exercises. She developed a series of exercises both stretching and strengthening (started stretching and adding strengthening over time) . She took the time to explain each exercise (sometimes several times). (Senior moments). To my own credit I also worked diligently at home which is an important part of the therapy.
Bottom line after almost two months of PT I was able to play pickleball for three hours yesterday pain free. So thank you Miranda for giving me my life back. When I finished my sessions they told me they hope they never see me again and I hope they are correct, but if the need arises I wouldn't hesitate to return.
My Daughter loved comeing here for 2 days out the week everyone was friendly and made it fun for her and when her doctor told her she didn't need physical Therapy anymore she cried because she really enjoyed it. They are amazing will definitely recommend them to everyone. Thank you everyone for getting my little girl back to her self
My therapist, Dave, first diagnosed my situation and then built a course of treatment. During the first few visits he assigned me exercises to relieve pain and improve flexibility. After achieving this milestone, we began a regimen of improving strength in the affected areas. I am very pleased with the results. I found their staff to be talented and very friendly.

I've been coming here since the beginning of May due to SI joint pain in my lower back. Liza is very thorough in explaining how certain exercises will aid in my recovery. I've been seeing some improvement after three weeks and she continuously makes sure that I'm okay throughout the process. She also mentors an intern and is great at multitasking my session while explaining the process to him. My son started seeing Micaela when he was 3 months old until recently when he graduated; Which was bitter sweet because Micaela is the absolute best! She helped my son tremendously and I am so grateful he was able to work with her, she was always very thorough and made sure to explain everything. Whenever my son would meet a milestone we were working on she would get just as excited as I would, you can tell she has such a passion for what she does! Everyone else is great as well, they always had a smile on their face and it's just a great atmosphere to be in!
Years ago I went to a different outpatient therapy center and felt it was a waste of time. I was apprehensive going again when my doctor suggested it for my back pain. I'm glad I gave it a shot. Both my wife and friend spoke highly of Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Centers. It only made sense to go there based on their recommendations. Megan was my PT. She's amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable and did I mention she's amazing? I felt immediate relief and while I still had some hurting days, it progressively got better. I had such a great experience at PTSMC. I went in with debilitating lower back pain. I had never experienced such pain before in my life. I am a runner, and so not being able to run (let alone stand or walk) was very hard on me. I was back to running within a week, and my pain got 100% better within a few weeks of working with Amanda. She continued to work with me to ensure I stayed healthy and pain free until my target race. And I ran a personal best at my marathon a few months after starting PT at PTSMC. Highly recommend!!
I have used ptsmc in orange for my Achilles aches, and everyone involved was very helpful through my healing journey, very competent, and overall great to work with. Juliann made sure she knew my background and past aches to make sure I had the best options and care available. I highly recommend ptsmc for any aches you need direct council, without the need to start with a family practitioner as well!!!!
Clean, Polite,extremely knowledgeable, and when it comes to Pt, Colin Ketchel is great, he was and is amazing with my son, he went in there with a sports injury, and Colin always made sure that he cross checked everything he never missed going the extra mile to figure things out to make sure my son wasn't in any pain,always asked how his games were over the weekend, very nice, made my son feel comfortable!! and every aide was great and very helpful. I was referred to a Physical Therapist by my Neurosurgeon due to pain from my L5 / S1 disc. I requested that the referral be sent to Tom at PTSMC because I've had great experiences with other sessions. Tom took about 15 minutes of LISTENING to the history of my problem and deduced it was not my disc, but an issue with something else. He immediately described what he believed was causing my pain and explained HOW he would be able to help me. Thoroughly explaining what he was about to do, he made an "adjustment"
in my pelvic bones and I felt immediate relief. We then decided to take the exercise and stretching approach for the next 2 weeks. After 4 sessions and plenty of home workouts, I'm happy to say that I'm feeling awesome!! Thanks to Tom and his staff for caring and compassionate treatment that worked! I will continue to refer all friends and family to Tom and his staff.
A great practice! My primary physical therapist is awesome...she has a great sense of humor, an understanding of my condition, and empathy and consideration when the pain is overwhelming.
I am having PT for the second time at PTSMC in Simsbury for a different injury. Two years ago I had an injured glute and Kate Olsen helped me recover from it. When I was recently diagnosed with Achilles tendonitis, I knew I wanted her to help me again. She is very knowledgeable and was able to find the best treatment for this injury. I am making good progress and already taking part in more of my normal activities. She is also a very pleasant person with whom to work.

If you are in need of a physical therapist go see Matt and his team at PTSMC in Bristol. Matt has helped me with arthritis in my knee and now some foot pain. He is the best at what he does. The staff is amazing and the welcoming friendly feeling you get when you walk in is like no other. Highly recommend!
The staff are awesome here. They are very pleasant and talk everything through with you. Cameron and Paul both worked well with my 15 year old, they explained everything to her as they went along and she feels very comfortable there. Will highly recommend them to everyone.

I was referred to PTSMC of Middletown by my doctor's office because of a recurring pain in my knee. Because arthritis (even osteoarthritis) runs in my family, I and the RN who'd seen me thought it might have to do with arthritis even though the symptoms didn't jibe (the pain was only occasional and mainly associated with a first step down stairs and would disappear after several steps and in particular after long walks) and the x-rays of my knees showed evidence of only mild arthritis. I explain this because Robert Bass, of PTSMC, after carefully listening to my tale and briefly testing my knees and legs, almost immediately came up with a very different and more persuasive diagnosis: slight misalignment of the kneecap (especially in the right leg), probably caused by weakening and tightening of the smaller muscles lining both sides of the upper and lower legs. After just that first session (including targeted exercises and massage), the pain disappeared for two days. I've been doing exercises since to reactivate and strengthen muscles that normally aren't worked out even in heavy lifting gym routines. I've also been meeting weekly for the targeted massage, additional daily exercises, and monitoring. Robert is a talker in the best possible sense: he explains things very well (including the predictable initial relapse into greater pain as the muscles adapted), listens equally well, knows his anatomy and physiology, is always fully engaged, alert, warm, and good-humored. The place is bright and attractive, blissfully free of the blaring tv screens and strident club music that afflicts too many hospital waiting rooms these days. Just the sound of human voices happily engaged in healing. Patients fit every kind of description. This is a practice for everyone. I've found the entire staff helpful, courteous, and warm and there's an evident esprit de corps that makes it a genuine pleasure to spend time there. It's wonderful to see how Middletown is attracting excellence across so many domains.

From the second floor windows, trees and sky provide a very relaxing view, while the positive attitude of the staff creates a relaxing atmosphere within. My physical therapist Keely has a compassionate and professional manner. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and clearly explains each activity and how it will improve my strength and range of motion. I am truly grateful to the staff and the therapists in this practice. I took my wife to be seen and evaluated after she had an accident on the 1st week of June. She saw her orthopedist and was referred to Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Center in Danbury.
After a few visits, my injured wife has improved significantly. She was taught some exercises that she religiously worked on at home and she really appreciated the efforts and professionalism of her therapists.
She could walk without her walking stick now, and she could wear footwear (she LOVES footwear, FYI); and her gait isn't as 'injured' as previously noted plus bonus points: SHE ISN'T IN SO MUCH PAIN ANYMORE. (Seriously, WOW)

After going to a regular PT and not having much improvement, I came to Steven for help after spinal surgery. Having chronic lower back pain and lingering nerve issues, he has strengthened my core and legs in a matter of weeks. I came in feeling like a second surgery was going to be my only next option, but now I feel hopeful that continuing here I can actually have a chance of healing my back with Steven and his crew. They also make it fun and I look forward to my appointments every week! Highly, highly recommend!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars to the staff at PTSMC Naugatuck! Xavier is just awesome. He's caring and personable but also makes you put in the work. The staff from Deborah at the front desk to the PT Aides, Adam, Rose and Lianne are all so welcoming and work so well together to help not only the patients but each other. It's a great environment. I've also seen Meghan as a patient and she is wonderful. I have seen Becky and Joe in action and they are great as well. If you need PT, this is the place to go!
I received very professional and caring physical therapy from Brianne for my frozen shoulder. She was very attentive from week to week to make sure that I would be able to do the exercises needed to get better. She communicated very well with my doctor. My experience with Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine Center in Southington and their staff was excellent. I would recommend them for all their special care.

Everyone knows how miserable it is to be in pain. When I first walked in to PTSMC with very bad sciatica, I could barely walk and was determined to work with Mike to get rid that pain and nerve numbness. By the end of the first month I felt 80 % relief and several weeks later, every issue associated with my sciatica was virtually gone. Mike used heat treatments, massage and exercises to do everything he could to help me. His personal attention was invaluable and more appreciated than I can say. Thank you, Mike, and you team for being there for me.
I worked with Alex Gauthier after shoulder surgery. He was fun to work with and supplied excellent guidance and exercise over a few months. I highly recommend him and the team.

I have been very happy with my experience at PTSMC. My physical therapist, Tom Kirsch, gives me individualized care every visit. He is knowledgeable. I have experienced improvement of my back pain over the past month. I feel confident that I will leave with an understanding of how to prevent and minimize future exacerbations of pain.
They truly put the "Care" in healthcare !! My Therapist Amy has set me on a path to recovery from my chronic neck and elbow conditions . Her approach has been incredibly effective so far . She manages to intertwine therapy with information on how and why we are doing the things we are doing to help resolve my pain . For the first time in a long time I am hopeful to return to a daily life that is no longer effected by chronic pain. The premises is always impeccably clean, organized and well equipped. The support staff and therapy assistants like Jocelyn are always, professional, motivating and helpful when finding me an appointment that fits my tight schedule or assisting with my exercises . I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone who appreciates a therapist and team who treats the actual patient and not just their symptoms.
Staff was friendly and was able to help my son strength his ankle after a trampoline accident. My son looked forward to going to physical therapy and felt comfortable around the staff.
